CUP FINAL TICKETS!!! - What is going on

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

i can't believe that this isn't all over the board. what is being done to get tickets to the people who had them stolen.

it would appear to me that these tickets have names and addresses attached to them therefore the list could be reproduced and the owners allowed in. i would assume that there is a near riot due to the fa's inaction on this, especially after what they did to spurs

please let me know what is happening. i'm only getting tidbits over here

People who were victims of the stolen tickets won't be re-issued with new ones therefore they have to stay at home or go down the pub to watch the game.

forgive me but why are they simply refusing to rectify the situation -- they will have to offer refunds so they know who has these tickets-- am i missing something

over here i've heard of nothing like this happening and boy if it did the lawyers would have a field day

It would be interesting tro see what would happen if the police located the stolen tickets. With the stance being taken by the Cardiff authorities they would be gutted.

Rather strange how the stadium W*nk stain paul sergeant claims they can't accomodate the crowd problem if an extra 1600 people turned up and yet the capacity has been reduced this year by 2500 for segregation.I was a big supporter of the Millenium Stadium but this years fiasco and the reduction in tickets for genuine fans has left a sour taste in the mouth.

i have to say this, though most of us will be thinking it..
call it sour grapes or not. but, had a fashionable (?) side suffered the same fate as our fans (no need for names here)

then all possible solutions would have been exhausted in the safeseating at the millenium on saturday of 1600 supporters.

end of story. the tickets themselves, were they not sent recorded? do they really expect any of those purchases not to have any form of personal (ie traceable) details....

absolute sham and speaks volumes about the FA/Royal mail AND the hitherto respected authorities at (imo) the best stadium in the kingdom... (while we are at it. the DWP as well)

the club, the manager and even the captain of liverpool fc have all made their feelings known to these faceless cowards.

and nothing.... i find it a disgrace that not only do these loyal supporters not fulfill a lifes dream.. they wont get a penny in return (yet?) for what seems like schoolboy like administration/delivery procedures and basic cant be ar5ed m8 policies...  :no

The authorities know they cannot identify the stolen tickets, when 1000's swarm all over the turnstiles half an hour before the kick off.The stolen tickets will be sold for £200 each in bars and streets around the ground. These fans will gain entry to the stadium and the authorities will probably turn a blind eye rather than cause a stir trying to evict 1600 people.Obviously they cannot be seen to condone the use of touts and advise people strongly not to buy off them but when all said and done, the Stadium officials and the FA see it as easier to allow these 1600 fans admission rather than issue dupilicates and have an extra 1600 people to deal at the ground.Myself,I would issue new tickets for the areas rreserved as segregation, thus leaving only 900 seats as a no go area.

Cup Final Ticket - My Story

I am not going to the FA Cup Final this year. This is due in part, to the FA and also unfortunately, LFC.

In addition to my standard job, I am an 'agent' for LFC. This role basically means that I sell 'the pools' for LFC to people evey week. I can't say how much I make for the club, however, it's a decent amount over a year.

The perks of this job is that I am guaranteed 2 tickets for every home game (be it, league, CL, FA or CC) and 1 ticket for any Semi's, Finals etc. From time to time, away tickets come up also. I do not hold a season ticket and as such I have to pay full asking price for the tickets that I am guaranteed - and I take every ticket that is given. Any fan who goes will know that I am paying more than a standard Season Ticket holder.

This on a whole is a pretty decent deal as you can imagine as I am able to attend matches. However, I wil not be able to attend the Final.

The reason for this is that LFC simply haven't given me a ticket. And this isn't the first time this has happened.

All the tickets I have taken are on my Fan Card as proof that I have attended all home matches and I also attended the Semi Final. the club, however, have not given me a ticket and haven't really given me a decent reason as to why.

I am absolutely devastated that I am going to miss this game, not just for the fact that I am not going to be there, but for the fact that I put so much into the club and when it comes to sharing the reward at the end of the season, I am completely cast aside without thought.

As I mentioned earlier, this isn't the first time it has happened. It also happened for last year's Champions League Final as well. It's almost as if the club is saying "well, you took that last year, im sure you won't mind this one as well?"

I really sympathise with those that won't be able to make it to the Final as I know exactly how they will feel, watching it on telly instead of being there and sharing the moment.

I will also lay blame with the FA, whose allocation is simply paltry to say the least. I also do understand that LFC have a demand that needs to be met. I do not understand however, how they can treat people (I am not alone in this - this has also happened to other agents) that put so much into the club like this. :(

From what i can make out, this gimp from the stadium is refusing to re-issue the tickets because they don't want any aggro from the fans turning up with the stolen tickets as well as the affected law-abiding ones. Well heres a bit of news for the dozy get; the people with the stolen tickets (if they're being sold illegally - and we all know they probably are) are gonna turn up anyway and there is still gonna be aggro when they aren't allowed into the game.
From what i've been led to believe from people who've been to previous finals in cardiff, there are 2-3 checks by the stadium officials of tickets before you get into the stadium  so these tickets are gonna be picked up before anyone gets into the ground. Why then can't the effected people either just be issued with tickets with a different image on to make thems stand out to the stewards or to help the stewards out give the fans the new tickets and ask them to enter the stadium a short time earlier than normal so that the authorities can the pick out the stolen tickets as the rest of the supporters enter the ground. It's just plain common sense and it just boils down to somebody not wanting to make the RIGHT descision or be arsed to sort out what is a very simple problem really.

Feeney mate, as you say you're not the only one that been treated unfairly by the club; whilst looking though the forums over on RAWK i came across a thread regarding good ol' George Sephton (the anfield stadium announcer for those of you who don't know  :no  ) who has given many, many years devotion to providing the stadium announcement for every match has also been overlooked by the club for a ticket to the final.
RAWK THREAD
I think that the club need to look at who they provide tickets to because when you here that all of the club shop staff members are being given tickets for the final it seems all wrong as some of them will surely only have been working for the club for a couple of years (some probably weren't even born when George Sepfton started his job at anfield i'd bet).
I know that this won't help you get a ticket feeney but you're not alone. (Just for the record i'm not goin' either).

Its hugely embarrassing and a fiasco.  They have let the stadium down and that idiot was on the weslh news tonight trying to justify his actions. Ok they were nicked but its happened before and reprints have happened.  Unfortunately its a badly run shambles and not just for the FA Cup.

This is no way to end the association with the cup and I cannot believe that more is not being done to get the people who were about to receive those tickets into the game

The FA have dropped some in their time but this just about beats tham all............. 1600  FA Cup Final Tickets destined for Liverpool Fans who had paid for and ordered by phone were stolen from a Royal Mail Van on May 5th and what do the People at the FA And Milennium stadium do ? When all else fails they resort to the cast iron defence when people don't want to address real issues in the modern world or modern game anymore..............Health and Safety !!!!!!!

Thats the byword that the Cardiff Milennium Stadium manager has chosen to hide behind when what he REALLY means which is "We can't be bothered trying to sort out the disputes at the turnstiles, within the stadium , on the perimeters or anywhere else for that matter"

Anyone who has been to Cardiff (and lets face it as Liverpool fans we have been there more than most) will tell you that your tickets are checked on the outer perimeter barriers well away from the turnstiles where you gain entry to teh stadium by Stewards and Police. Now how much would it cost to knock up an Access programme to cross check the ticket details and stop the majority getting beyond even that ??? Then fans possessing dupliacted tickets with the word "Duplicate" printed on them would rightfully be admitted........ NOT that difficult is it !!!!!!

Rik Parry is quoted as saying he is furious and indignant that the FA and Cardiff are choosing this option when they have produced "Duplicates" for every other final held there. Well Rik, if your so adamant that their in the wrong then I'd take it to the wire and threaten to boycott the event and lets see the FA

For too long the fan has become expendable in the name of "Health and Soddin Safety"  "Market Forces"  " Administration errors" or whatever else these numpties care to dream up  !!!!!!!!!

I'm going on Saturday on account of going to the ground and collecting my tickets in person but for so many thats not always possible cos their at work slaving their  off to pay for the tickets !!!!!! Last season it cost £36 to attend the European Cup Final. This season the FA Cup final are charging £65 on average for a ticket......Even Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask  !!!!!

When the F.A, Millenium stadium etc etc deny genuine & loyal fans the absolute right to attend the match (let's face it, it wouldn't be difficult to sort out) then I despair...........

Yet another nail in the coffin of football and the grassroots supporter .................
