DRUMMERPHIL'S THREAD - DONATIONS, PRAYERS AND GOODWILL MESSAGES

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RedWolf35 » Mon May 08, 2006 10:51 am

My best friends lad had a brain haemorrhage six months ago and the doctors advised his dad that he was just waiting to die.

Within seven days he came around and now he is on his way to a full recovery.

The will to live can work wonders Phil and you have lots to live for....

Come on lad you need to be there for the championship party!!!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick word to say once again a big thank you for all your support, Phil is asking constantly about you all and I know he is touched by all your messages and support, hopefully it wont be long before he is back home and I know one of the first things he will do is to get back on the forum. Keeps asking about Robbie Fowler and his contract but Ciggy as put me straight on that one and I shall update with the news today.  Not been able to print off this thread (the printer as choosen not to work at this inappropriate time) but a friend as printed it off for me today and I will be taking it to him later today.

Can see from you comments you need away to show your support (although just being there for Phil is sufficient) and although we are very proud people and have never claimed benefits or had to ask for help we have to face facts that we will need all the help and support available, therefore I have sent a paypal account up today and as I am being advised to get power of attorney for Phil felt it wiser for this to be in my name, but I promise with all my heart that any donations received will go to make Phils time with us has happy, content and comfortable as I possibly can, on this you have my word.  There is so much he still wishes to do, to show the kids etc. but mainly to enjoy life, and now we know just how sacred that is.

There are a few things you dont know about Phil and he is a very proud and private person and I never go against his wishes but the first things on his to do list are; to change his name back to his family name (which will be Gibson), for us to get married (which will be in the chapel on the cancer ward), to sort out his finances, to express his funeral wishes ( one being to play YNWA & for some pure 'red' blood to be there), to get through this treatment so he can enjoy supporting Liverpool and get to see them play.

He is very emotional at the moment and in alot of pain and the doctors are trying to find the right medication to ease this but his target is to get through the radiotherapy and back to normality as much as possible.

Once he as read the thread I may have some of his own words to relay to you all and I thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.

Take care.

Karen xxx

Has anybody sent funds yet?  What do you do?  Do you go to the Send Money link at the top?  I'm logged into my account you see and I want to know where to go from here.

Put some cash in your account, and then send money and enter mrsdrummerphil's e-mail address. I think. It's been a while.

You don't have to put your hand up but maybe the fact that you do might encourage others to think twice and chuck in a few quid .

You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older.
