I have a lot of time and respect for Phil, he’s a quality poster and was always in remarkable spirits regarding his illness.  Like some others on here, (due to work) I haven’t been able to post a great deal on here, but I didn’t expect to hear this.

Keep strong Phil, our thoughts and best wishes are all with you.

Couldnt have said it better myself. YNWA Phil.

I feel gutted for Phil and his family. There is not much one can really say other my prayers are with you Phil and your family. We have never had that much communication but that does not change the fact that a decent person is not feeling so well and that his family are worried about him. Please count on me for help, as I am sure any gesture from this web site and it's members will do a world of good for Phil's mood.

There is not much one can say that does not sound patronizing in this situation but I still say stay positive Phil (which I am sure you are), and once again my prayers and positive thoughts are with you.

I may not know about any donations that may be going around but if someone can let me know I will donate.

Is an account set-up yet, or are we to send cheques to Phil's home address?

Shocked and saddened to hear about Phil's setback and sending my sincere thoughts and prayers to him as a bloke and a fellow Red and his family at this difficult time.

A quality bloke and a quality poster. I know he is from the Potteries but he possesses that sardonic "scouse" wit and his one liners and retorts are a joy to read.

Must admit this thread completely bowled me over. I've been here on and off for a few years, but just hadn't picked up on Phil's illness at all, so all of this was completely new information.

Have had nothing personally to do with the lad, but like many I've read and enjoyed his posts, and knowing what I know now I'm utterly gutted to hear about his current situation. This forum's a darker place without your input fella, and I wish you all the luck in the world to get through your current ordeal.

There's dozens of guys all over the world here rooting for you, and although I'm sure there are family and friends aplenty looking out for you in person, I'd just hope it comes as some comfort to you to know that people that will never meet you are thinking of you and hoping that an enormous turnaround in health is coming your way. I know a great many people, family and friends included, that have had to deal with cancer, and for every couple of lives that has been taken by the disease, I know of 1 or 2 lost causes that have defied doctors expectations, beggared belief and have got themselves home where they belong.

Nothing's easy, and recoveries from these sort of illnesses take real blood, guts, determination, gritted teeth, pain and tears. To bring a rather crappy football analogy to this thread for a sec, try and think of yourself as being in the half time dressing room in Istanbul. Nothing is impossible mate.

Walk on Phil, for a good while longer yet. Whether we drop grapes off in person or not, everyone that passes through these pages with anything about them is walking there with you. :)

A quick word for Karen (Mrs Phil, if you will) as well - I know all too well how much of an enormous emotional strain it is for loved ones at times like this, and rest assured that all the goodwill that's being sent Phil's way is also aimed very much at yourself.

Friends and family are often the unsung heroes when there are illnesses to be overcome, and I just hope that you stay strong in spite of everything that goes on around you.

Many thanks for keeping in touch with us. It'd be oh so easy for a forum your bloke frequents to be completely forgotten when you've got so much to think about, but I think it's well worth saying that we really do appreciate it.

Best of luck Karen - send Phil our love, and keep a bit in your pocket from us while you're at it. :D

I remember a conversation i had a while ago with phil regarding his illness when he put in a topic called what would you do if you had 12 months to live or something along those lines, i argued a point or two with him that day reason being my fiancee's dad had just passed away.  I now Know why phil was posting that where as before i did not understand. And even though we sorted out ur differences that day am sorry for any offence i might have caused.

Keep Fighting

I wish good luck to phil and hope he can make a great recovery.

He is a credit to this forum, good person and loyal fan.

Will miss his posts.

My best wishes go out to him and his Family

Hang in there champ. Wont be the first time doctors get it wrong. We need your good sense on this board.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with you!

Has someone contacted the club to arrange a visit from Robbie Fowler? This shouldnt be too difficult to arrange...
