He's fine, no breaks and no serious injury but he'll be a doubt for a starting line up place next week against the Hammers.

May not be second place, bu that was always a long shot. 3 goals from three strikers in one game is top stuff and I shall now await MOTD tonight in quiet happiness and anticipation for the cup. I hope Xabi's not too badly hurt.

well we lost out on 2nd in the end, ah well it didnt look likely anyway, 3rd and 82 points is an amazing achievement though. Feckin mancs, why did they have to win!!  :D Bas.tards charlton had to get battered..I feel sorry for spurs too, they hold 4th for that long and then them gobsh.ites come along and beat them to it, i hate arsenal, hope they lose the final.

Ah well enough anger.. 82 points is fantastic and we have finished with a bang before the final, i hope alonso is fit for west ham so we can bring the cup back. If we dont win this final then this seasons a failure to me really even though we have made significant progress in the league

Xabi's fine, he came out to the dug-out just after the restart unaided, no stretcher, no crutches and no persons supporting him.

That was a close shave for Alonso.

Agreed, I really do feel sorry for Spurs. Led the 4th spot since december and then they have six first teamers struck down with food posioning and another three of four injured. They had it stolen away from them.  :(

And the Addicks are a disgrace, the last game of Curbishley's Charlton reign and they just roll over and die within 12 minutes of the game.

Well at least Chelsea lost again Newcastle, how shameful and what's worse is that Titus Bramble scored the winner.

Well in lads!!!

82 points on the season, 11 wins on the trot...I nice way to finish!  Too bad about the goal conceded, though...I wanted that clean sheet!

It felt like we were in 2nd gear all game but still managed to handle Portsmouth.  We have become so good at keeping possession and click into gear with some moments of brilliance.

Thought Kewell had a great game today, helping set up the first and second goals and working hard on the left.  Robbie with another timely goal and a very composed finish in traffic.  And Cisse changed the game when he came on.

Seems clear to me that Crouch and Cisse will start the Final.  Crouch was always going to and Cisse has done enough over the last few games to edge out Nando for me.  Hope Xabi's ready to play and I'm glad no one else was hurt.

We didn't get second place but it was a good end to the league season and sets us up nicely for Cardiff!  :buttrock

82 points is a 24-point improvement from last season if I'm not mistaken.  That's terrific.  And we only finished 9 points behind Chelsea.  That's vast improvement.

Also, if the league had started in October, we would be champions. :D
Well done, boys!

Good result, and if I'm not mistaken, it sets a club record for the number of straight victories. (Either that or it equals the previous record!?!)

I hope Xabi is OK for the final - does anyone know anything definative on his injury?

Good to see God scoring again!!!!! :D
