Explain why ?

Because Fowler has got NO chance of making the World Cup Squad - period.

It doesn't matter how many hypothetical questions get put on here (Owen, Rooney, Crouch and Defoe are injured....who would go?), he will not be in that squad. I've said in previous posts that Sven is as predictable as the Pope being Catholic and he wil not take Fowler, no matter who is injured and who isn't. Don't mistake my posts for being anti-Fowler - i'm exactly the opposite, I was made up to have him back. I just think the chances of a player who has not been in the squad for 3-4 years, as well as never being a favourite of Sven has as much chance as Sheringham making it - NO chance.

PS sorry for the gramatical error Ivor, i'll check Oxford's next time  :p  :D

I think England is the last thing on Robbie's mind. New contract is top of the list.

Two weeks ago the idea of Fowler going to the World Cup was absolutely ridiculous. And while it is still a VERY long shot it doesn't sound quite so stupid with Rooney out and Owen a real doubt. However the fact that Robbie was VERY criticial of Erickson and his tactics in his autobiography (which was serialised at the time) was probably the last nail in the coffin of his England career. Erickson will probably turn to Vassell who has always been a favourite of his.

Some sections of the media are quotin Andy Johnson as havin a chance, I aint once heard mention of Robbie.....
As a Scotland fan ur injured/semi-fit and doubtful list looks interestin....

Rooney.....Owen.....Cole.....Campbell.....King.....Terry(tho thats only a slight one admittedly).....

Add to that the amount of games our lads have played that should be in the England squad (Gerrard, Carra, Crouch) ur squads lookin possibly a little weaker than the alledged "best chance in decades" as quoted once qualification was ensured.

No, I dont think Robbie's got a cat in hells chance, but with those injuries I'd still give him more chance of makin the squad than the squad winnin the Cup!!
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

SSN this morning had Fowler at 4-1 for a call up.

They had these as certs, in the following order:
Crouch
Bent
Owen
Rooney
Defoe

Then the outsiders we're in the following order:
Ashton
Harewood
Vassell
Fowler
Beattie

Considering these are all bookies odds, i think its pretty safe to say Fowler for england is not going to happen

Rushing Rooney back in would be daft, if he hasn't fully recovered or he isn't happy on it then he shouldn't play.

I can see Ferguson pulling the plug on it all

Harewood has to be in front of Fowler realistically speaking, he has been in good form all season.

Personally I'd take Beattie ahead of Fowler. Even in his peak Robbie never quite did for England what he did for Liverpool (admittedly he had the likes of Shearer and Sheringham in front of him)

This is silly, there isn't a chance of him going, and I would like Beattie to go personally, I think he could be a suprise with decent players around him.  I'd rather Fowler was at Liverpool getting fit for the season ahead.
