Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

My point is that you speak to fans who have only been to the big games, and they get their tickets from supporters clubs, it angers me.

Arguing this point on this forum will always be difficult as it is packed full of ooters, good for you if you support Liverpool, and we all have our reasons. The bit I don't get is what's the matter with your local team?

I'm not Stu, and it is a decent question that i am asking.  I'm not having a go, I'm just curious.  Where do these people come from, and is there nothing there for them?  I love being from Liverpool, you don't realise what a boss city it is. I think the majority of people who rip Liverpool and it's people are slightly jealous of scousers.

thats just wrong mate and you know it. as i always say liverpool isnt geographical, its more important than that and the few scousers like u who say otherwise just ruin it for the rest of us

Simple impartial questions that I would like a non-smart arsed reply to:

How full do you think anfield would be every week with only local support?

Do you not feel a sense of pride in the shows of force we display in the numbers and noise of our support at all the great european finals we have had the pleasure of being a part of? You surely can't beleive they're all local's??

Just ask yourself!

the ooters debate is just f#cking tiresome now. for your information, i was born in leicester, was adopted and brought up on the outskirts of liverpool, went to my first match when i was 8 years old and have loved the club ever since. i've had a season ticket for 9 years and i now make 2-3 hour trip from middlesbrough (where i now work) to every single home game. i wouldn't like to think how much i've spent following the team this year considering i've also been to the boro, sunderland and newcastle away games, aswell as the birmingham fa cup game and the semi final at old trafford.

the fact is, fans come from all over the country. i couldn't care less where they're from. at the end of the day we all support the best football club in the world and that's all that matters.

I accept the points you are making, prehaps my arguement could be also aimed at Manchester United fans as well.  I just think that for somebody to not support their local team is odd.  I know a fella from (born there) Scunthorpe, and he supports Liverpool but Scunthorpe are his second team, now explain that.  It's gloryhunting.  Why is it only successful teams have a global fanbase?  I just don't understand how you don't support your local team.

Read the thread again.  You need to either learn to read or put your reading glasses on.  It wasn't me who brought nationalities into this.  But you're right the chief biggot has not posted on this thread, and SHE knows who she is.

Stop trying to be the victim, is it me or do people love to think they are victimised?
