I was delighted when we signed him too. He was the closest thing to Kenny Dalglish we had ever seen, and while he was at Forest he was amazing. I remember he had a choice of clubs after his signature, and His dad told him -"Get to Liverpool"
I never will understand why he never hit it off, but he wasnt the only one to flop around that time maybe we were cursed in some strange way.
Souness didnt seem to know where to play him either, and even dropped him back into midfield, and his lack of pace was horribly exposed.
But he had dignity as you say Feeny. He just got on with it, and although he wasnt a huge success here-he was a fantastic player with a football brain few could only wish for.
