What is it with you and Nigel Clough?
Are you shagging his arse or something?
Only messing mate I just find it weird that you are the only one who loved his spell at Anfield :;):

sh@gging     what a word!

Nah mate, I liked him because he didn't do well - sounds odd, I know, but bare with me.

I was made up when he signed because he was a quality player at the time and I was a fan long before he signed. As we all know, he came in and didn't make much of an impact. Yet, despite his apparent 'failure' did he say one bad word about our club?

His words were 'i've learned more about football here than I could of anywhere else during my time'. He showed dignity and class where, really, he could have slagged us off to death for not giving him the chance to be an excellent player.

My appreciation also coinsides with one of the best games I have ever bare witness - the 3-3 draw with Man U.

Don't get me wrong, there are many players that I rate above him, such as Barnes, Beardsley, McManaman etc. I just think this man was gracious during his time with our club and thats something that i've always respected when a player plays for our team, even when it doesn't work out maybe as everone had wished.

Mind due saying that he probably became a cult figure, like Igor Biscan.

I was delighted when we signed him too. He was the closest thing to Kenny Dalglish we had ever seen, and while he was at Forest he was amazing. I remember he had a choice of clubs after his signature, and His dad told him -"Get to Liverpool" :nod
I never will understand why he never hit it off, but he wasnt the only one to flop around that time maybe we were cursed in some strange way.
Souness didnt seem to know where to play him either, and even dropped him back into midfield, and his lack of pace was horribly exposed.
But he had dignity as you say Feeny. He just got on with it, and although he wasnt a huge success here-he was a fantastic player with a football brain few could only wish for.
