Why are a number of veteran posters on this board complaining that this place is going to shit?

This, BTW, is a serious question. I'd like to contribute to a solution but I can't do that effectively without fully understanding the problem.

its something that happens every 3 or 4 months. there's a few barnies, a member states they're not going to post anymore, someone gets banned, someone else makes a new id, then it all gets back to normal again.

is it true that dogs can't look up?

because its not in the shape it was a year ago, People in Gen Chat had a laugh and in the Main forum there was proper debates about proper issues.

There is to many people IMO who dont know that much about Liverpool but think they do and people tend not to htink about there posts to much, Debates turn into arguments and a lot of people cant accept that people have divided opinions.

The forums not sh!t, its just not as good as it was, we have a lot of people who come on here just to boast and wa*k over how good we are rather than having proper debates and that doesnt make much of a forum.

We are here to talk and post are feelings yet its all "Isnt Gerrard wonderful" and a load of people going "yes, i agree" it doesnt add anything to the forum.

Also think little cliques donbt help on forums and its not very welcoming and means people struggle to get involved properly and if im honest i think it works agains the forum, theres a few cliques on here at the moment and i think it means you get the same response form certain people all the time and not really the view that represents the indivuals opinion.

P.S this isnt a go at you Bob in anyway what so ever fella, im just giving you my honest opinion and in now am i refering to you in this post!!!

Again its just my feelings on things.

Gary mate you make some good points.

Another thing that I feel is that some people like myself have been posting here for so long that we’ve covered almost every topic several times, it just doesn’t seem worth repeating yourself. Sometimes I just don’t bother because I think everyone knows how I feel.

Another thing is that things are going so well this year that there isn’t much to talk about! In Houllier’s last season and last year under Rafa the forum was buzzing most of the time because we weren’t doing well and there was plenty to be said. But now we have improved so much and we know which directions were going in, damn Rafa ruining this forum!

General chat is general chat, everything goes pretty much. But the LFC- GENREAL DISCUSSION part of the board has really taken a dive over the last couple of months. Some of it is down to lack of regulation, but some of is down to posters who either just hit one lines, repeat themselves, get into slanging matches on purpose, try to be funny and get attention though insulting other members, etc. Every time I write a thought out post it gets drowned out by crappy one liners and insult matches, I just don’t bother no more.

I think that the mods need to clamp down on slanging matches and personal insults in LFC-GENRAL DISCUSSION, it’s not a popularity contest. Also some people simply go in there just to slag a thread off, if you think a thread is :censored:

, just don’t post in it. Also people need to be a bit more careful about the way they say things, some members are over aggressive on purpose because there on some sort of power trip or trying to impress, you can say what you like but the way you say it will determine whether it stimulates a discussion or a slanging match.

That's true, CHL (and Gary). Our main down point this season has been our strikers, Cisse in particular aand he has his own thread which all Cisse News goes into. The enigma of Garcia is another factor, and again, it has it's own thread. Most of what's in LFC chat these days should either be rubbed or should be in the rumour mill. News gets put on there, but after a couple of decent responses someone says something and a slanging match ensues.

I used to post really long topics on here and they got an oK response and they did prompt debates, but the last few times people have just written something along the lines of "Yeah, whatever" and that seems to be it. I know it's a fashionable thing to say, but before the CL win there was a much higher class of post and a much higher class of response. I find myself these days shelling out one liners because a lot of the posts are one liners too. It's tragically contagious. I used to spend all of my time in LFC chat, but now I spend it here because a lot of the pea-brains haven't discovered this place yet.

The arguments are ridiculous. This is the internet, so you're never actually going to get in a fist fight, and you don't have to listen to anyone else, so what's the point in puffing your proverbial chest out and spouting on and on about certain members. There's no need to name names and everyone knows the main culprits, but it's getting too much. Between this and the trash being posted and LFC chat, it's easy to see why some of this site's old pros and top posters are staying away these days.

Then there's the multiple IDs which are getting beyond a joke with a couple of people every week putting on their e-fancy dress and annoying people because they've nothing better to do. And I'm not talking about Roberts, because some of his actually turn out to be moderately entertaining, but some of the others are just so stupid.

This place is becoming a bit of a playgrund and I'm no position to tell, or even suggest to, the mods how things should be done, but I hope things change a bit soon. All I can do is hope that Arsenal win the CL and then most of the bin-men on this site will head on over and start clogging up their forums with pointless arguments and slanging matches.

Serious question:

Just seen an advert for the '86 cup final rematch at anfield that's on SkyOne. In one clip it shows the bench at the '86 final and sat there was Bob Paisley. I wonder if anyone knows whether back then he was helping out behind the scenes or what 'cos i haven't gotta clue (i was only six at the time). :help
