Should we - Rest our key players now?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Perhaps it can be part of the pride Barry comments, but in terms of competition fairness, there are teams that are fighting for relegation and or uefa places, and the teams that have been already beaten by Liverpool, would fairly expect that we do our best, or at least our standard against their rivals.

Rooney's broken his metatarsal,Owen's "less than 100% fit",John Terry got crocked yesterday so which England international's next?
Maybe Rafa should wrap Carra,Stevie G and Crouchie in cotton wool till the Cup Final... :eyebrow

i dont agree,
1. the distance of times before the 2 games is far, so the players will haveing time to have enough rest
2. respect opponents
3. imposible is noting

champion league cup was imposible last year
it is now on our hands forever okay?

It's likely Man Utd beats Boro, not because of the obvious difference, but specially because the UEFA final hangover. Mid table teams that reach an important final, tend to consider their season goals fulfilled. Don't be surprised if the other UEFA finalist loses here in San Sebastian this afternoon aswell.

In the other hand England is a superb team, if only Owen was fully fit for the WC final, then you wouldn't need Rooney whatsoever to make a great competition (perhaps winning it is to say much)
