i cant work out cisse. hes just not all there. it has been shown tho as fact that if he starts enough games as striker he will get by far the most goals. its just the baggage that comes with him that is the problem.

If he is to stay here next season, Cisses major challenge will be to come to terms with being rotated through the sqaud along with everyone else.  As a result he will still get plenty of criticism because IMO it impossible to play at the top of your form consistently when your not playing consistently if you get my drift. Maybe he needs to learn how to handle both rotation and criticism in order to play more relaxed football with more composure and less mistakes.

As fans we need to appreciate that fact and how it applies to all of our strikers. Any new ones included.

Some papers are saying that he will be playing his last game for Liverpool in Cardiff. But I suppose a lot of us already think that.

Djibril Cisse is aiming to keep scoring the goals in the final games of the season to secure an FA Cup final and World Cup squad place.
The 24-year-old France international has had an inconsistent campaign for Liverpool, but two goals in the 2-1 success at West Ham on Wednesday took his total tally to 17 and he is looking to grab a few more before the season's end, starting against Aston Villa on Saturday.
Rafa Benitez's men still have a chance of securing second spot in the Premiership, while Cisse, who played on the left side of midfield at Upton Park, is looking to prove himself worthy of a starting place in the FA Cup final against the Hammers at the Millennium Stadium next month.

If he impresses for club, Cisse is also hoping France coach Raymond Domenech will come calling when he names his squad for the summer's World Cup finals in Germany.

He said: "I was really happy with my two goals and it was important for us to get three points against a difficult West Ham side. The most important thing was to get a victory and keep fighting with Manchester United for second place.

"It is always good when you play two games in such a short space of time and you can come away with a victory. I think it is a good advantage for us. It is nice for me to get these goals with the FA Cup final just a couple of weeks away.

"I really enjoyed being back in the team and I am determined to do my best when I have the chance to play. I am delighted I managed to score two goals."

He added: "If I can keep scoring for Liverpool then hopefully the France manager will take note of what I am doing."

Agree with that but it's overall footballing ability that is also another aspect of himself that can be called into question. It was good to see him score two goals but why can't he score on a more regular basis?

I think if he can show some signs of discipline and footballing ability then I think he might just stay.

. Yo cissa just shoot the ball directly at the goal keeper m8 time after time after time.
Its good to see you getting in to a scoring position but you waste it more often then not. Get yourself a bicycle and a necklace made of onions and get back to France as quick as you can you useless tart.

I'm not too quick to criticise Cisse.

No matter how you look at his situation, he has scored 17 goals and you cant deny that.

We know we've lost more than a few handfuls of hair watching his lack of communication with other teammates and his unwillingness to defend.

Obviously, 14 million pounds is a large sum to pay for a striker who has weak linkup play and doesnt bang in goals consistently.

But, although I may be just echoing the opinions of other members, some of you may have already have forgotten that he doesnt start many games. He doesnt play in his preferred position and not to mention the horiffic injury he suffered a while back.

Take those factors, add Rafa's rotation policy and the speculation about him moving away we cant really put all the blame on Cisse.

He hasnt found his feet yet.

Many players have found it difficult to adjust to the Premiership and Cisse is no exception.

My opinion is, that players formerly from Ligue 1 find it harder to adapt to the Premiership than players from, let say, La Liga because Ligue 1 isnt so demanding and fast-paced as the other two. You only have to look. We have ample evidence. Where are most of the French entourage that Houllier signed? Not in Liverpool. Where was Morientes before he came to Liverpool? Monaco.. Where was Cisse before he came to Liverpool? Auxxere..

In my opinion, Cisse is, in recent years, the best player we have signed from Ligue 1. With the exception of Riise of course. He only needs time. Though some of you may feel differently, I would want to give Cisse just ONE more season. Just one. An ultimatum for Cisse. Its do or die. Sink or swim. Whatever.

I'm not ready to give up on the closest thing we have to a striker at the moment.

His finishing might be questionable? but it does not help that our strikers are consistently rotated. How can you be consistent when you play 2 games, sit on the bench for the next 3.

I can understand that players need to a break over the course of the season but all players need a string of games to maintain consistency. It does not differ if your talking about your front 2 or your back 4.

Couldn't agree more. He's lacking confidence... and skill, vision, a first touch, positional sense, natural ability, a work ethic...
