Joey barton - I know, another rumour, but...

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

As far as I know transfer window is open start of june so we need to accept morgans offer quickly get rid of houllier and get a new man on board.
I agree with your class system of players and therefore we should try and get VDV,Jaoquin and Gallas.
Having said that I cannot see 2 class acts like VDV or Jaoquin wanting to play for a manager with such a bad reputation for his lack of style.
That is just another reason why we need a new manager who can attract the very top young players.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

Thanks for the reply regarding the transfer window :)

I'm not sure how much players who want to joij clubs base that decision on the manager there at the time. Other flair players such as Kewell, Diouf (I know he hasn't performed), Baros and Cheyrou (Ditto) only wnated to vcome to LFc for GH ?

The club is bigger than any personailty and anyway if we continue to improve and satrt next season like we finished this one I'm sure the creativitya nd flair players will want a piece of the action ,.

Walk on :)

I would like to see either Malbranque or Cole in the centre for us!
I dont think Cherou has been a fair Crack of the whip to play there and maybe he should be given an opportunity!

My view though is Hamann has seen better days and would not suit the kind of football that GH wants to play next year!

hamann will be very useful for us next year if we buy a really good attacking right midfielder, then we would have kewell gerrard and right mid all storming forward and hamann to hold the midfield, it makes sense!

malbranque or cole are not good enough i want someone better if we have the money be ruthless chance our arm at nedved or someone like that any better suggestions than cole or malbranque?

what about torres or joaquin!

Chancing an arm i dont think is an option GH has considering the amount of abuse he has come in for about doing exactly this in the past

Cole and Malbranque are proven in the premiership!
Both are still relatively young and can still improve and they can both play at the premkierships pace!

Joaquin?

You're having a laugh aren't you?

He's off to Madrid you plonker.

The way i see it in terms of transfer targets there are 3 categories when you consider possible LFC players.

1st Class - World Class top quality players who attract attention by most if not all the top clubs in Europe  Examples would be  Henry,Owen, Raul, Scholes,Ziadane, Beckham, Ronaldo etc.... these players are the best of the best and wanted by petty much every club

2nd Class - Up and coming recent top performers such as Lampard, Van De Varrt, Drogba, Saviola, Cole,  Ronaldinhio etc....

3rd Class - Team or squad players who can make an impact if the club they move to is the right cklub at the right time .... Players like Izzet, Smith, Gallas,

The thing is LFC will probabbly invest in a player from EACH of these categories and bear in mind the transfer window opens in August ? Is that right Or have I got that wrong ?

For me if we take 1 from each category (And I'm not meaning JUST the players mentioned ) then its vital we choose carefully, all too often we have bought flavour of the season type players without thinking about their suitability in the Liverpool TEAM .

My personal choices would be KEE Owen from the 1st class, Lampard from the 2nd and either Izzet or Smith from the 3rd

Dalglish Gallas certainly isn't 3rd class mate. He's one of the leagues best.

Lampard would be a huge waste of money as he won't give us anything we don't already have.

I think Lampard is one of the most improved players in the premiership . I wouldn't mind seeing him and Stevie running our midfield. Stevie holding with Lampard pushing forward to support Owen and Cisse.
Ok it's not gonna happen, but you never know.
Was looking at Geordie forum this morning , they are not happy so I posted some salt (happy scouser). Apparently Woodgate is not happy  ???  worth watching that situation. :)

As for him replacing Hamann thats ******.

He's not in Didi's class and we need an attacking midfielder to replace Didi, not another fecking defensive one.

I agree Stu, we need to play a more attacking style.  As much as I like Hamann - and I do, we definitely missed him when he was out for the first part of the season - I think we need to evolve now.

This defensive style of play must be gently eased out for a more attacking style.  Hamann will not be acommodated in this style so if we can find a player to replace him (attacking, mind you) so be it.

i think people are underestimating Frank Lampard. He is in my opinion close to being the complete midfielder- his passing is in the same league as Beckham and Gerrard and he's consistently shown some the kid of creativity that we so rarely see in English players.  He also works very hard, is a good tackler and chips in with more than his fair share of goals and he also takes good penalties and set pieces.  But having said all that i doubt he will be coming to Liverpool- but i hope he is given a good chance in Euro 2004 along side Stevie.

No , Long Sleeved Joe, no ones underestimating him EXCEPT Stu The Red :D  Lampard's class, Stu reckons he is too much like Gerrard in the way he plays so doesn't want him at LFC.

As for me I'd love to see him at LFC, he and Gerrard are good enough to adapt to each other, after all they do it for the Enggland team don't they . :D
