I think the team will be something like this:

                                  Reina

                 Finnan - Carra - Sami - Riise

               Gerrard - Sissoko - Xabi - Kewell

                                 Garcia

                                 Crouch

I think in a game of this magnitude, it's gonna be so tight and could possibly be settled by a bit of magic. That's why I'd plump for Garcia in the hole just off Crouch as he's capable of producing a bit of brilliance. Plus he's got a good record in semi's against Chelsea. :D

Gerrard is due a massive game against them. If we click on the day, we could really blow them away. No-one has really done that to them in this country, yet I do think it can be done. No-one ever really tests them to the maximum, but I reckon we're the team to do it.

Liverpool head into this weekend's FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea with manager Rafael Benitez insisting the Reds are getting closer to the Londoners and believes they are not invincible.
Benitez knows Chelsea have the financial resources to attract the world's top stars but feels confident that Liverpool can compete with Jose Mourinho's side on and off the park.

"Yes, Abramovich has money and we know that there will be more and more money but Chelsea can only buy so many players," insists Benitez.

"Even though they spent more than anyone else last summer, other teams are now getting closer to them.

"Here at Liverpool we need more money to be contenders. We want the freedom to do the job better and so we'd like more money. But it is not just about spending. Players coming to this club know that they have other advantages that Chelsea do not give.

"We have a fantastic atmosphere, not just inside our stadium, but around the club itself. They also find that the club treats them well, from the board and the directors to the other players.

"When they come they realise that there is something very special here that they can't find anywhere else.

"So I don't envy Mourinho's wealth. I am really satisfied here and happy that last season we won the Champions League. I believe that game against AC Milan is going to be remembered as the best European Cup Final ever. That is something we have, that is progress."

While having respect for Chelsea the Liverpool boss feels other clubs shouldn't fear Chelsea and knows they can be beaten as his team proved in last season's Champions League semi-final.

"It is good to see that no-one is scared of Chelsea now and teams have learned to play against them and we are all working on ways to beat them," added Benitez.

"Manchester United have proved this season that if you are very positive in the way you play then you can get very close to Chelsea.

"Chelsea and United are much closer than they were last season and, next season, I think that Liverpool and Arsenal will also make it much more interesting. Then there are teams like Tottenham and Blackburn who are developing.

"United are closest at the moment. The difference is now down to the results of one or two matches. It is good enough for Chelsea now, but it is not a gap that cannot be closed.

"Clubs and players no longer fear Chelsea. They know that they can be beaten now. We are seeing that and it is only the start. Every year it will become more and more difficult for them."

I would love us to beat them so much.  The thought of John Terry crying like a little girl makes me so happy

Agree on Garcia being able to produce that bit of magic Saint but I don't think Crouch is so good playing up top on his own against top class defences. Despite causing problems with his height i just don't think he is mobile enough and he tends to be a bit of a sitting duck unless he has another striker to take off some of the pressure. I'm gutted Robbie is cup tied, i wouldn't play Morientes but would be tempted to give Cisse a run out alongside Crouch this time around.

Cisse would be a fool not to relish this opportunity, how many people will be watching this, and it could boost his chances of making the National Squad

I've heard that getting the train to the match could be very risky.

Going on coach with Barnes Travel - like the eighties.

Only professional to - play in goal (41 appearances), Defence, Midfield, Striker, and later be Director and then to be Manager (winning a Championship) - at one club

I am, as always, a little more cautios than most on here.  Chelsea are still the best team in the country.. the league doesnt lie.  Our problem will be scoring against them.  They know that and will play their normal counter attacking style.  It is imperative that we do not panic and throw too many players foreward as they will hit us on the break.

Gerrard needs to have a good game.. I can't remember him ever having a decent game against them.  He is key, he neds to control the game and attack them, either from the wing or the centre.

Crouchy needs to be a nuisence, John Terry is a collossus, he generally wins every ball in the box, But Crouchy can and does unsettle him.

Garcia needs to have a solid game.. forget the flicks.. Get amongst it and win the second ball (and prefreably hit the back of the net this time!)

The rest of the lads just need to play their normal game.

The difference between us and them is a lot less than last season.  We need 3 or 4 players to raise their game a little and we are in the final...

Come on Boys!!!!   This is not a normal game this is far more important.. YNWA
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
