No CL for them next year and consequently no Thiery Henry .  :D

Still , they'll have a new "Emirates" stadium . Maybe they'll stage some Camel races there .

It's a fair point J-mac.

I don't want them to win because it belittles our acheivement last year and removes some of the mystique of the tournament for English clubs who seldom win this cup. I don't like saying it but it's true.

Just asking guys, what was your thoughts/feelings in the late seventies/early eighties when english clubs won the tournament 7 times in eight seasons? I remember 'supporting' Forest and Villa in them finals, has football turned from simple rivalry to pure hatred?

I have never known us to 'hate' our rivals more than any othe time in the last say thirty years or so, I was just wondering what peoples thoughts were, and why the change, is it the media, money, or just a new generation of football fan?

On the point of Arsenal winning he Champions league, I like most football fans will watch the final in Paris if Arsenal indeed get there, however I will secretly be willing their opponents on.

However I have marvelled at Arsenals football in getting there, the way they dismantled Juve and Real madrid can only be admired. Any real football cannot help but admit that.

Come on Barca!!   :buttrock  :wwww

i don't arsenal to win it...some pundits already stated that if arsenal won the cl, their achievement will be a great to english football coz they play free flowing football or attacking football. So they tell us that our cl triumph against ac milan last year is second class achievement or contribution to english football and football in general..............so come on villareal

The thing that gets me is that Wenger compared us to Millwall and all of a sudden he is comparing his arsenal side to ours of last year. Well what the :censored: does that make your team???

Pee, they've already started murmuring that ifithadnabinfor* Collina, they'd be in the semi finals now, because "If Villarreal have done it, we could have done it."

Seriously by the way, that's how their twisted views work.

my guess is that it'll be a barca - arsenal final, and to be honest i don't care which one wins it. i'll be looking foward to a great game of football and a few beers with a bunch of arsenal supporting mates and a bunch of barca supporting mates. the plus point about barca winning it is that my current home town wil go f*ckin nuts for about a month, all work will stop and there'll be a long summer of free love. if arsenal win it my mate will be so trolleyed i can charge all my beers for the night to him and he won't notice. whichever way i win!

i don't buy the concern about the media and whoever else forgetting what happened last year - i certainly will never forget what happened last year and that's all that matters to me. i also don't buy the worry about arsenal having a financial advantage as they move into their new stadium - the amount they owe on that thing is going to swallow up any gains there so i won't expect them to go on a big spending spree.

we're out of it so the competition no longer matters. personally i'll look forward to enjoying some great football, whether its played by henry, ronaldinho, shevchenko or riquelme.... or... errr... diego forlan.

If we're confessing, I've had Craig Bellamy in my Fantasy Premier League team for the last three weeks.  I sold Rooney though because he hadn't scored in months and then he suddenly couldn't stop scoring as soon as I sold him.  Swings and roundabouts.  I did have Michael Owen though when he was red-hot for Newcastle so even if we lost out by not signing him, I never!!! :D

Staying on the Champions League discussion, Blackburn could still make that fourth spot you know this season, they're level on points with Arsenal, who will probably go for broke with the European Cup, Tottenham have a very dangerous run-in, they could easily lose all their remaining games - leaving the way open for Blackburn.

Luckily for me, Bellamy is in terrific form.  I think it was Garymac who mentioned the other day that as much as a big mouthed prick he is, and a cocky bastard who knows how good he is, he does score a lot of goals.

Is he worth a punt for Liverpool though?  That's another thread altogether.
