Good morning mates, it's been a while I don't make one of my crappy translations so I'd best remove some rust off my english.

Here I go. There are some interesting points

* How the contact with Liverpool is done
* How is the work permit issue right now
* Knowing that Mark is an ambitious guy
(the parenthesis are my personal comments)

MARK GONZALEZ INTERVIEW

Source: El Diario Vasco

Journalist: Iñaki Izquierdo.

Cráppy translation: Me.

MARK GONZÁLEZ

"I want to go to Liverpool after fulfilling my goal of achieving Real Sociedad remains in Primera Division"

SAN SEBASTIÁN. DV.

His Pace and left leg have been the great discovering for Real supporters in the last matches, and he has also been their greatest hope. Since he arrived on loan from Liverpool last January, Mark hasn't done nothing but to improve and supporters of Real Sociedad wonder wether there is the slightest chance he stays in Real Sociedad next year. Nevertheless, the Chilean player has the strong believe that his future is in Anfield Road.

- In the last matches you have been MoM of Real Sociedad, are you happy with your form?

- Quite. After 10 long months without playing, I had some problems (the muscle ones I told you) but that's over. I'm satisfied with what I have showed and I hope to continue this way. Playing a couple of games well and then doing an average game is worthless. I always aspire to get more and more and even after what I have shown so far I expect to keep improving.

- ¿Are you at your top level right now, or do you expect to improve?

- I think I'm pretty well. You can always give a bit more, you learn something new everyday and with time you mature as a player, that's why you train everyday. On a personal note, I'd like to be the best player in my position one day, I aspire to that, and I think that says it all really .

- ¿Is the left wing position your natural position, or do you like to play in the middle as in Getafe (some moments of the game)?

- My natural position is on the left wing, but if the coach decides at some point that I must play somewhere else, I'll happily do that. But my natural position is left wing and it's there where I explode.

- ¿Is pace your best weapon?

- That's my best virtue. Mark González is known for his pace first, and after that everything else: long shots and everything else

- You're the new idol of Real Sociedad's crowd, do you feel the love of the people?

- Not only now, but right from the beginning. Meanwhile I'm in Real Sociedad I'll give my best for the team and for my self, as I'm very happy here

- Is there ANY chance that you stay here a bit more?

- My next step is another one. I wish I can solve my problems (work permit) and I can leave Real Sociedad totally grateful to Real.

- Would you like to leave Sn Sn leaving Real in primera?

(some questions are silly, aren't they)

- Of course, that's the goal. I want to leave after reaching my best level, after giving everything and after achieving the goal of remaining in primera

- ¿Would it be important at all to come back to Liverpool without a relegation experience?

- It's important to come back properly, at my  best level, and with the head up, to reach to Liverpool and say "I achieved my goal and here I am"

- ¿Is that sensation of the  fulfilled duty important to you?

- Of course. I came here to reinforce the team and that says it all. I'm fighting every day, every training session and every match to achieve the goal. I fight to be able to say I gave my best and that the team stayed in Primera

- ¿Is your working permit problem solved?

- It's a tough matter, and to be honest I don't know how it is right now. If only I could solve it before the Liga season ends...

- ¿Do you think you'll be able to play in Liverpool next year?

- Obviously I'm confident I will. That's what I wish most, but we must be realistic and after being rejected the work permission twice, I'm quite pessimistic, but I hope everything will get sorted out.

¿Could you get the Spanish nationality somehow?

- That's the idea. That's why I came here, to fulfill the two years as resident and obtain the nationality, the problem is, that my papers are already on transaction to get the passport and I think that takes a long time, about a year and a half or so, which is too long time, plus, it is a government level decission so I don't know for sure what will happen

- ¿Do you keep in contact with Rafa Benitez?

- At first I talked with Benitez so that he knew how I was settling in here, but most of the contact I have is with Paco Herrera, so I guess Rafa knows about me through him (once again, Rafa shows they work as a true team, we'll miss Paco!)

- ¿The fight for relegation could be solved soon or shall we have to wait to the end?

- I'm afraid that all this won't be solved until the last match. We are thinking only in the next match and not the future, to be honest. This week Racing Santander comes, we're training thinking on them, we know it won't be easy, but our minds are only in this game and in this 3 points that cannot go away (if we beat Racing, we get past them and at least another team )

- ¿Do you make bets about who will be the teams that will be relegated?

- I don't care. I only care about Real's safety and whoever are relegated, I don't care

- ¿A point in the Bernabeu is more valueable that another point somewhere else?

- I'm happy for achieving an important point in the Bernabeu, but a point is a point everywhere. It has the relevance of being achieved against a top team, but aside from that the goal of getting a point away was achieved, and that's what matters. The Madrid game is over, this is a new week and we must only think on saturday

(Looks like there will be some competition in the left wing next year, care to loan Zenden to us?  )

What a free kick...though I reckon he was aiming for ronaldo's face so that he could make him less uglier than he already is :p

Imagine our free kick takers...Mark, Riise, Stevie, Didi...I'd :censored: myself if I was placed in the wall

I can't wait to see the media's reaction to him, we got a bargain at approx £3.5m  :bowdown

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK

GONZALEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a loose ball, and he struck a volley that entered like a fúcking missile!! The lad is pure quality in his shot.

It was a difficult game, Racing came for the draw, and they payed it. It would have worked if Gonzalez wasn't on the pitch , but he was.

And now Real Sociedad is out of relegation.

Thank you Mark, thank you L.F.C

I've come from the stadium just to tell you this (I live 10 min away), it's worth of the walk, I couldn't wait.

Because he is a wind up merchant who is upset that Man Utd blew there last small glimpse of winning the title against the worst team the Premiership has ever seen, so he is looking to lash out, just ignore him.

I just believe we could sign better wingers than Gonzalez that's all, I'd prefer it if we had SWP or Joaquin here. Who can offer us more than Gonzalez.

Cool Hand Luke - Is everyone who doesn't agree with you a Man Utd supporter then? Kinda sad really isn't it that you brand supporters "Mancs" when they do you not agree with you. And if you were not ignorant and read my posts that I make you would know I am as much a Liverpool supporter as you are.

The world is a sad place when you can't have your own views without being branded "a wind up merchant".
