Gerrard, heskey and owen - The three musketeers?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Against Birmingham at the weekend, Gerrard, Owen and Heskey were in magnificent form.

I haven't seen those three play as well since they all orchestrated England's brilliant 5-1 win over Germany.

If Gerrard, Owen and Heskey play like they did at the weekend in every game, the holy grail will come back to Anfield

However, in terms of next season, we can't rely on three players always to do the business for us - we need to bring in other top quality stars to dig in and help the cause.

I agree they played excellent, but to overlook the performances of Sami, Riise, Carra and Kewell is a sin, they too played well.

You can afford to carry two players, as we did Saturday, all teams do it at some stage in the season when players are out of form, our problem this season is that one player has been carrying ten too many times.

all 3 did really well, Gerrard will do it 50 times (assume 60 game season-optimistic) if he's not injured, Owen about 35 times (he'll get injured) and Heskey about 5 times.

Spot which one must go!

Your not another anti-Heskey man are you?

KEEP THE FAITH (at least with those worth keeping faith with, of which Houllier doen't fall into this category)

It's not about being an anti-heskey person it's all about being the right person for the job which i'm afraid BDB heskey is way short and has been for a couple of year's now and it's time for some new blood who can score 20+goal's a season and not someone who if you recall are own stevie g said if he's up for it he's great he should be up for it everytime he don's are famous colour's full stop so yes it's time for the big man to go on to pastures new.

Fair enough, Heskey hasn't been one of our best players of late, but, I think that he isn't on top of the 'kick em out list'.

Compared with the season before this, Danny Murphy for instance, has not played as well as he did, but I don't see many fans calling for him to be given the boot.
