in the video, the defenders were beaten too easily, is it because he has the skill that makes it look easy or the club he was against are just amateurs?

Rafa will have got all the information about this plpayer by now and is probably making a decision about whether or not to bring him to Liverpool FC.

Although I haven't seen much of Sergio Aguero play and from what everybody else has been saying about him, I think he would be a good addition to the club.

How much did Manu pay for Rooney he was only 17 and how much did they pay for Ronaldo he was only 18 when he went there.
and of course Arsenal they paid 10 mil i think for theo walcot. these players are and proven theyre worth in the premiership, i think we should pay 10 mil for this argentinian. or atleast haggle abit, we shouldnt just dive in and say hes only worth 4 or 5 mil because thay wuill just blow us out completely.

I fecking certainly hope so!!!!!!!!!! What a star in the making.
Just a pointer though Boro bought this player from over there few seasons ago young lad called Marinelli, He was all built up as the next Maradona signed at 17 had everyone raving about him over there, But look what happened couldn't hack it in premiership alot of skill but knocked off ball to easily same sort of build as this lad. So who knows!!!!!!!!!!!

From Teamtalk:

Newspaper reports linked the 17-year-old with Liverpool on Friday but

Benitez said: "He is a good player - he is one of the best in Argentina - but we are not thinking about him. At this moment we are thinking about West Brom.

Aguero, who plays for Independiente and is believed to have a price tag of £10million, is understood to want a move to England.

"I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there," he is reported as saying.

"I watched the Champions League final and celebrated every goal as if it was for Independiente."

Benitez, meanwhile, has virtually conceded goalkeeper Kirkland has no future at Anfield.

The injury-plagued Kirkland is currently on loan at West Brom but has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking a finger.

With Jose Reina installed as Benitez's first-choice and impressing in his debut season, Champions League final hero Jerzy Dudek on the bench and the promising Scott Carson as back-up, a return to Liverpool is unlikely for the 24-year-old Kirkland.

"It is a pity he has another injury," said Benitez, whose side go to West Brom for Saturday's evening kick-off in the Premiership having not lost against the Baggies since 1981.

"We are playing well, we have a lot of clean sheets, Pepe Reina is playing well, we have Jerzy and Scott Carson is a very good young goalkeeper.

"We have a lot of good goalkeepers and he knows this.

"He wanted to play and it was the best solution for him to go to West Brom.

"Now he is out of luck again but I think he has quality. He needs to play and it will be difficult for him to play with Pepe Reina playing at this level.

"We will talk with him and his agent to see if we can find a solution."

The headline is 'Rafa denies swoop for Argentina ace' but I don't think he's denying it but he rafa says he's the best player in Argentina so he's admitting he knows of the lad and must have watched him, he never actually said he's no interested in him so I think he may go in for him as he's the type of player we need playing that 'Rooney role' ???

it means that we may get him before or during the WC, because it is true we need to think of our remaining games before we think about getting him

so Rafa wants him

well rafa is not against talent from argentina and his record in taking them on board is encouraging...ayala, pelligrino, aimar, palletta etc...probably a few more if i bothered to look it up. so i dont see why he WOULDNT plump for aguero....

its only a case of if he is ALLOWED to. and by that i mean an auction.
look at wallcott/owen et al..wright-philips another. when it comes down to the wonga we are definately weak.  :(
and you know who can pounce

yeah im sure aguero's original quote mentioned chelsea as a team he would like to play for, but he seems like he may be worth pursuing, although if hes not playing for argentina yet, we may aswell wait till after the world cup.

even if Rafa is interested, he'd be stupid to let it be known to the world, the price would rise straight away.

10 million may sound like it a lot (well it is a lot), but unfortunately that's the way of the football world these days. Top-drawer youngsters from South America cost a lot of money. Add to the fact that Europe's biggest and best clubs are after Aguero and that just adds to the fee. Kaka cost over £5m, Robinho was around £17m, Tevez was over £10m and Aimar cost Valencia £13.7m from River. Even a fella like Cavenaghi cost £6.5 million, when Spartak Moscow bought him from River, and he hasn't had as much hype as Aguero, that’s for sure. Arsenal had to pay £12m for Walcott, and Rooney cost £30m.

It's risky paying big fees for young players though. Kaka has been a huge success at Milan, and he looks like the bargain of the century at a little over £5m, he's world class. Cavenaghi has only scored 10 goals in around 40 games for Spartak. TBH I'm surprised he didn’t go to Spain or Italy. Then there is the biggest flop out of Argentina in many years IMO, Andres D'Alessandro. Another one who was hyped as the “next Maradona”. To be fair, he was excellent at River, and when Wolfsburg paid £7.5 million for him, I thought it was great business, especially as top European clubs were also chasing him. However, he did very little of note in Germany, and now he’s on loan at Pompey (of all places), a fall from grace that’s for sure. He could still revive his career though because he’s young. Who knows if Pompey stay up, and he stays on he may do really well for them and a top club like Arsenal, Chelsea, ManU or ourselves will buy him.

Lionel Messi is the one to me who looks to be the best of the “next Maradona” bunch. He’s only 19 and he’s already world class, and a key player in an excellent Barcelona team. However he just signed a new contract with Barca I believe, with a huge buyout clause so he won’t be leaving Barca anytime soon (if ever), and why would he?

So back to Aguero. He’s clearly very talented, especially for a 17yr old and he wants to come to Liverpool ahead of anyone else. If we aren’t taking a serious look at him then I would be absolutely stunned. The fee is the issue, do we shell out £10m plus and hope to Fowler that he does the business and turns out to be the player he’s hyped as.  However if he flops ala D’Alessandro, or even worse suffers a serious injury after some jailhouse defender like David Weir decides he’s sick of this young Argentinean kid making him look like a tw@t after he’s gone round nonchalantly to score his 5th goal of the day.

As someone else said in the thread, what happens if we decide the fee is too big and he goes to another big club in Europe and absolutely dominates? We’ll look foolish, when Liverpool was in fact his first preference.

If it were up to me I’d take the risk on Aguero (assuming we could afford the fee) and work really hard with him, so he can adapt to England. I think a young kid like him would do well under Rafa, who would probably be like a father figure to him for his first few seasons. Top drawer young kids like him are the sort of players that turn into the Ronaldinho’s, Riquelme’s, Ronaldo’s etc of this world.   A club has to take a risk on these players at some pint, so why can’t it be us for a change, rather than the usual suspects like Inter, Milan, Real Madrid and Barca.

Aguero wants to play at Liverpool, and with all the Spaniards in the squad he’d adapt quite well hopefully and turn into the world-class player we would want him to be. It’s a yes for me, do your best to get him here Rafa.
