BTW - We have improved 10-fold in the league and FA cup so far this season.

Yes we are out of the CL, but we are still Champions until another victor is crowned.

We'd be pushing for the title had Sh*tski not bought it again.

Nice post Barry, i ignore the baiters and say that im well pleased with this season in context to where we were when Rafa first arrived.
Despite the limited finances, the disruption over Owen sale  and Gerrard is he going or isnt going, a new regime with new methods. We have come forward in a great leap to such a stage some fans expectation really is way beyond what it should be.
There have been setbacks as there always is and always will be, certain transfers havent worked which happens at every club at every stage.
While i wasnt expecting us to defend our CL title and due respect to Benfica we did miss a golden chance  to at least reach the QF stage
On bonus side though we are at SF stage of FA cup and things can only get better next season

future is bright the future is red
Forever Red in this life and the next

If someone had said to me at the end of the 2003/2004 season tha...within two years...we'd be reigning european champions (for another month or so anyway)..pushin for second place...in the semi's off the fa cup...and with a team where putting together now...I would of been :censored: myself with excitment...

Time is off the essence...last year we were 30 points behind the champions...this season where looking like being 15 or so behind (rough figures)...If Rafa makes the right buys this summer...then I expect tha gap to be fully closed this time next year :)

Champions league.......Out!
League Title...............Out!
Second Place.............Out!
Fa Cup.....................Tough Tie, possibly...Out!

I quote Bill Shankly..." first is first, second is NOWHERE! "

To me it doesnt matter if we finish second, third, or fourth, as they are all "losers" places.

When you are aiming for 4th spot, and not the league, is a joke in terms of LFC's standards.

We have been out of the league race for some time, not good enough.

Got knocked out, by a talentless lowley Benfica team, and squandering many chances, was an embarrassment. Surrendered the crown without scoring  GOAL in two legs.

Anyone which thinks all this is acceptable needs shooting, and should read up on Shanks, and what LFC is all about.

You my friend are a first class CO.CK!! :nod

If you cannot see that our team are taking the right steps towards success you are blind!!

You quote Shankly??

If you had half a clue you would be grateful and see that we have maybe just found ourselves the best manager we've had since him!

i agree with Barry, i'm happy with our season.  We're pushing for 2nd and, if we had a 20+ striker, we would have been pushing Chelski to the wire.  yes, we're all disapointed to be out of the Champions League, but lets be honest, we weren't going to win it again.  This year will allow us to secure our CL place and already we're looking towards next year and a league title challenge.  I'm not jumping for joy, but i'm hoping of a 2nd place and FA cup win to finish off our season.  If we finished 3rd, i would be content that this season has been a vast improvment.

a scouser with some sense there's a rare thing

buying Fowler shows Benitez's problem-he needs a good striker but can only afford Crouch and Fowler-who was only bought to keep the unwashed masses in the Kop happy cos you aint buying Owen the pigmy back cos he'll cost 15 million

In the aftermath of the victory (  0-7 ) against Brum, you said that was the Liverpool you expected. Well that's rather unrealistic, even teams winning 5 championships in a row do not win 0-7 often, so you can't really expect that.

Just the same way, saying that this has been a poor season is unrealistic. And a Manc agreeing with you should make you think a bit, if you're supposed to be a LFC fan.

from what i have been told he didn't buy fowler he got him for free so i dont think u can blame benitez for that. and i also think that fowler is a gd striker not as gd as what he was but can still make goals out of nothin

I'm really glad to see the team is heading in the right direction and we're getting better and better .
Unlike some others,  Ericthenob and his shower of sh.t we are going forward not backwards.

Good post Barry its good to see an optimistic thread around here, never mind Ericthehead .

  lando do you practise your abuse... top draw mate

this has been a season of progression of the biggest order, we are no longer a top 6 team , we are title contenders

we are know around europe as a force to be reckoned with and not a fallen giant

we have world class management in place

we have a strong spine thought the team on which to build an amasing squad    pepe, carson, carra, agger, alonso, gerrard, momo  ok the front line will be added this summer but that is another step in our progression

the money needs  to be sorted by the board to provided so that rafa can work his magic

fans(if that what you call yourself) like alonso 06 aren't worth a w@nk you are here on the wind up and i agree with lando when he calls you a bucket of rat spunk  :D
