I think in this game both teams have something to fear.. Because gerrard and crouch is a threat.. crouch mainly because he is a good striker and hes really tall.. but then there are chelsea players who are a threat to us.. like Lampard, Drogba and terry.. there all really good.. so both teams are going to have to put there all into this :D

..................Liverpool...............Cheatski
Shots...........85........................97
On target......31........................39
Fouls............157.......................150
Corners.........27.........................44
Offsides........11.........................44
Posession......47.3%....................52.7%
Yellows.........15.........................18
Reds.............1...........................0
Saves...........28.........................32
Goals   ..........4..........................11

With the exception of corners and offsides I think the stats are surprisingly even. Chelsea's extra seven goals come from only 8 extra shots on target - when you consider that 4 of these came in one nightmare 20 minutes or so when we got caught on the break it is evident that barring errors like that and the 'incidents' that Judge alludes to, we're pretty well matched.

On current form, with our guy's tails up and Chelsea IMO looking a bit unsettled and distracted, I'm confident that we'll get the win, maybe even by two clear goals. Pity Fowlers cuptied.

Edited to point out that without actually doing the head to head stats for any other team I'd wager that nobody else comes close to matching Chelsea game for game over nine matches, so yes I reckon they'll be worried!  :D

similar to what i said theo, but i dont wear an anorak mate  :D

i think we have been unlucky in previous encounters against chelsea....and we are playing better football than them at the moment. They are on the worst form they have ever been in under Mourinho, but im still not 100% sure we can beat them, about 80% right now, i can comment more in the next couple of weeks......seeing how we both are performing, but that will go all out the window at kickoff anyway.

The only difference i see in Chelsea now compared to the same time last year when going into the semi's in champ league is that there is far greater pressure on them at the moment......mourinho only having the premiership this season would be a disaster for him and his ego (even tho its not a bad thing), and i think the chelsea players, even tho they are shown to have great team spirit(at the races together? awwwww), are hiding their frustration at some of the "special one's" decisions as of late....that could be a bonus for us. we've already seen Joe Cole's anger when subbed off in the Fulham game, Drogba will be under the microscope which is probly how he likes it, Lampard isn't on that great a form ( only 2 goals this year?  more of a free-kick specialist lately ) but is still getting played, im sure Gudjohnsen isn't the happiest pillow on the bench either...

That being said, they could use this match as an opportunity to get into the manager's favour....who knows, but one thing IS clear at the moment.....we are playing so well that even the critics that are so used to bad mouthing pool at the moment, are avoiding talking about how well we have played lately....gotta be good....

I found this in Chelsea fc forum thought some of you might like to read it as it come from a Liverpool supporter…………………………………………………………….

Look, I am a mellow kind of person. I used to like watching Chelsea under Gullit/Vialli/Ranieri because you played entertaining football in the right spirit. I have always supported English teams in Europe.

Over the last couple of seasons however Chelsea's image has gone seriously downhill. For the first time in my life I didn't feel unhappy at an English team going out of Europe against a foreign team when Barca knoked CFC out.

There are so many reasons why Chelsea are hated (I'm not on here to wind anyone up, just give an honest opinion):

Here are a few:

1. The diving and playacting of some CFC players, in particular Drogba, Robben, Del Horno, Cole, Gudjonnsen, Makalele, Carvalho drives everyone mad.
Yes all teams have the odd player who acts like a poof - at the start of this year Liverpool had Garcia and Sissoko who coming from La Liga were partial to a dive. However both have improved immeasurably in part due to being frowned upon by the fans.
Jan Kromkamp (bought from Villareal) took a dive on his LFC home debut and was roundly laughed at by the home fans - I don't think he'll be doing that again.
Drogba and a few others have been in the Premiership long enough to know better and if some CFC fans booed him for his antics, I applaud you. That is the only way to rid the game of cheating and shoud be the attitude of fans of every club.

2. Mourinho - his arrogance will obviously annoy other fans. However that was no a problem early in his Chelsea days and could even be said to be confidence. However, since the latter part of last season he has become a joke with some of the contradictory comments he has made. How could he possibly have a go at Messi for diving!!! The "siege mentality" has become a complete joke.

3. CFC players snarling in a pack around a referee even when one of their own players is clearly at fault. You might say other teams do this but none do it to the extent Chelsea do. The only comparison is Man Utd a few years ago (Keane et al) and they were rightly slaughtered for it then too.

4. Essien - he made a few absolutely horrendous tackles early on this season. It looks like he may have learned his lesson and realises he cannot challenge in a two-footed, studs-up, cowardly manner however. I hope so.

5. CFC fans. While I do not want to tar you all with the same brush the attitude of some of the Chelsea fans I have had the misfortune to come across over the last couple of years has been the pits. It may come as a surprise but throwing bottles, spitting and coins (with sharpened edges!!) into the away fans enclosure does NOT enhance your popularity.

6. Abramovich's cash. OK, not the fault of the fans or the club but no one likes to see a quality young player like SWP bought for bucket loads of cash which only CFC can afford and then left to rot.

7. Kenyon - nobody likes the way he conducts himself.

8. Style - for whatever reason Chelsea just do not play entertaining football most of the time. Sacrificed in favour of efficiency perhaps.

I could go on but I haven't the time.

I'm seriously not on here to have a go, but if you take off the blue glasses you'll see why there is so much hatred toward CFC.

See you in the FA Cup

If you fancy hearing 'bubbles' by a load of hoolies known as West ham "fans". That song has to be worst football I've ever heard in my entire life. It makes that John Barnes one for World Cup 1990 look like a classic.
