CHELSEA VS LIVERPOOL FA CUP SEMI - Can you smell the fear?

Effes,

I don't do newbie bashing, I don't even care when a person joins the forum. I am an anti-elitist. I know what she was saying but I didn't understand where the comparison of results fitted in that's all, I wasn't having a go at her or anything. I can see where she is coming from, maybe I should word myself better in future.

The 1st n 2nd leg of our Semi Final with Chelsea was indeed boring, it was just defensive football against defensive football, we cancelled each other out, we just made a break for it and scored. I suppose I'm being a bit harsh the game did have moments of nail biting brilliance e.g Gudjohnsen last minute shot but it wasn't the greatest match I've had to sit thru

Yea.. But even Terry said Gerrards a really good player and is a threat.. we are a threat to chelsea just as they are a threat to us.. we have become one of their biggest rivals aswell

it'll be a horrible match that's for sure. it'll get hyped up into oblivion by the press so the tension out on the pitch will be immense, meaning the ref will probably be feeling trigger happy with his cards. drogba and carvalho will be cheating like bejesus and mourinho will be his usual charming reserved self and won't for a minute go near the 4th official

i can see it being decided by a single goal, let's hope it's another garcia "did it, didn't it" effort so mourinho can lose it completely thus providing us with something to laugh at all summer

I have to say I always look VERY forward to playing Chelsea ever since this "new" rivalry was born....Unfortunately we almost always fall short of what I expect.

I won't change my previous opinions though, regardless.

Being the eternal optimist that I am, I think well beat them, for sure :nod

I doubt they will fear LFC, but the arrogance and lack of respect Mourhinio shows is unbelieveable.

I mean, coming out and saying that CL semi goal by us was lucky, we were lucky to win the CL and every other ounce of horse sh*t that comes from his mouth is shameful.
I fully expect these feckers to start diving all over the pitch.

Maureen must be instructing them to do it, as theres about five chelsea players who are at it!

Drogba, Wright phillips, Robben, Del Horno V Barca,  and some other t*sspots.

I'm just concerned we may lose the game over sme hand-balling diving cheating incident.

never thought i'd find myself agreeing with hustler but i too think mourinho's actively encouraging his players into their recent cheating, bad sportsmanship and play-acting. i think it's all part of his tactics to make chelsea a f*ckin awkward and prickly side to play against

It's well known in Portugal that he uses these types of tactics.

He will do absolutely everything he can to win.

It was very funny to see how it back fired recently when Chelsea didn't relay the pitch until a few weeks after the Barcelona game.

Serves them right.

I agree! In order to win the fa cup we'd have to beat Chelsea at some stage.. For some reason I'd prefer to meet them in the final.... anyway! I'd imagine also that the lads are looking forward to having another go at chelsea, much more than they are, of having a go at us!! We're improving with every game, they are going backwards! Roll on!!

I have got 2 Chelsea supporters in my family and believe me they :censored: themselves when we meet. And so does the Chelsea team. They remember only to well that is was us that knocked them out of the chaps league. And knocked man u out of this fa cup.
when was the last time Chelsea played a team that played good football I think it was Barcelona and Chelsea got torn apart by them .out played out classed.
We will be the 1st team since them games to play fast effective football as long as we don’t try sitting back on goals we will beat them. I have got every confidence we will beat them and ill even push the boat out and say we will win comfortably to.

our stats read against chumpski, one win in ten :(

Nonetheless, i reckon that we will overturn chumpski, unless drogba does a handball, robben falls over due to a 1 mph wind, swp is told to fall over for whatever reason, joe cole continues so many step overs that ball ends up his rectum and he walks into the net, john terry and all of the chumpski team intimidates the ref again, del horno gets away with blatant fouls and carvalho continues to push folk in the penalty area, or hacks at them etc etc, and they all get away with it

Apart ffom those incidents i feel we will win

Although the most important stat is not in our favour, the 1 win from 10 flatters Chelsea something silly IMO! A quick look at stats for the last 9 games we've played (going back to 3/10/2004) shows we've matched them pretty well.

..................Liverpool...............Cheatski
Shots...........85........................97
On target......31........................39
Fouls............157.......................150
Corners.........27.........................44
Offsides........11.........................44
Posession......47.3%....................52.7%
Yellows.........15.........................18
Reds.............1...........................0
Saves...........28.........................32
Goals   ..........4..........................11

With the exception of corners and offsides I think the stats are surprisingly even. Chelsea's extra seven goals come from only 8 extra shots on target - when you consider that 4 of these came in one nightmare 20 minutes or so when we got caught on the break it is evident that barring errors like that and the 'incidents' that Judge alludes to, we're pretty well matched.

On current form, with our guy's tails up and Chelsea IMO looking a bit unsettled and distracted, I'm confident that we'll get the win, maybe even by two clear goals. Pity Fowlers cuptied.

Edited to point out that without actually doing the head to head stats for any other team I'd wager that nobody else comes close to matching Chelsea game for game over nine matches, so yes I reckon they'll be worried!  :D

Personally, I reckon that it would have been a sh#te final, and will make a much better semi. Usually the 2 teams in the final are scared sh#tless about making a costly mistake.
