hmm, my heart says we will beat them. my head witnesses the circus that follows them and thinks we'll need a bit more rub of the green than faith alone can provide!

i hope optimism prevails   :buttrock

I just feel that Chelsea are a team that thrive on confidence and belief, they have great players of course but technically I don't think they are the best team in England let alone Europe, they win matches with ability, yes but as often by sheer belief. how many games have they won in the last few minutes, how many matches have they ground out 1-0 when they have played bad. My point really was that if their confidence is down which it appears it might be they will be a bit more fearful of us than before, perhaps more fearful than against anyone they have played.

Are you having a laugh?, It will be a miracle if we beat chelsea in the semis

Chelsea will lose to us.
I said in a past post that I wanted to get Chelsea after the toons it’s our time now the cup is ours.
Chelsea will know that we are the main footballing force now.
There win against the toons was very very poor they was absolutely p.i.s.s poor.
As they have been for there last few games.
I am 100% sure we will walk all over them .The last time they had to play a team that played good football was Barcelona and they walked all over Chelsea just like we are about to do.
my only fear is that they will injure some of our players because not only have Chelsea got the biggest mouths in the premiership but they are the biggest cheats and play the dirtiest football and they don’t give a toss how they hurt on the pitch.
The time to put an end to Chelsea is now.
AND GOD SAID LET THERE BE LIGHT AND IT WAS NOT THE BIRTH OF JESUS IT WAS A LIVERBIRD FLYING WITH A RED AND WHITE SCARFE AND THE WORDS SAID ..............YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE...............................

Chelsea may play :censored: football but they do play extremely effective football. Yes, they didn't play well against newcastle but they did grind out yet another result with their effective long ball merchant tactics. Obviously barca beat them by playing good football but they do have the best club side in the world at the moment including some of the best goalscorers around which we dont.
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,

Well it is semi final of FA cup and previous form and league position tends to count for very little unless its a real minnow against a Giant
Its normally down to whichever team want its more. I dont think Chelsea will be trembling in their boots about facing us but i doubt what the previous results against them will count for very much for our boys either

Therefore, logically, is it not us who have something to fear?

They also forget that referees have undone us against them in the past.

At least 3 stone-wall penalties (2 in one game)which would have turned a defeat into a draw, or a draw into a victory.

i hate playing against chelsea. In these last 2 seasons,we have we have met them 9 times already....winning only once.

In all our losses to chelsea...we usually start the match well..only to concede a goal against the run of play and then lose our way.

But if we beat chelsea...the FA cup is as good as ours...

The good thing about this is the damage we can do to Chelseas morale again. The semi-final champions league defeat we gave them hit them hard, we seem to play so much better in 'Big' games.

Hopefully our recent form will continue but more importantly we have 3 league games til the tie and I think Rafa will seriously need to rotate the squad for the West Brom, Bolton & Blackburn games because players like Gerrard need to be careful of burnout.

chelsea should thank their lucky stars that this game isn't for a month as a lot can happen between now and then. they're not playing well and we are so if the game was next week i'd be more confident than i usually am when we play them.

however our record against them in semi's isn't too bad and if i'm not mistaken, every time we've played a team in blue in the fa cup semi finals, we've won. :eyebrow

haha.. true that is.. and if you think about it they are starting to go down hill.. loosing against fulham (we beat them 5-1) then only getting 1 goal in against newcastle (we beat 3-1) they really are going downhill.. and it was in the semis last year we knocked them out of the champions league.. so its all good for us :)  BRING ON THE CHELSEA

Comparing our results with Chelsea's over the likes of Fulham & Newcy isn't a valid point to be made. And just because Chelsea struggled against Newcy & lost to Fulham doesn't mean to say they are going downhill by any stretch. And what has our semi final victory got to do with anything? It's also certainly not a game or leg I'd be shouting from the roof tops. It was boring, dull and messy and we scored a controversial goal and then parked a bus infront of goal.

And as someone above pointed out, a month is a long way, away! Anything could happen. We could go on a poor run and Chelsea could go on a brilliant run, who knows.

It'd be stupid to write Chelsea off at this stage they are a dangerous team, even when they aren't at their best!.

And from our record against them in recent times, I'd for one am dreading the semi final with them.

yea.. i didnt mean they are going downhill i only meant like the last few games have been quite bad.. and i know when we beat them last year our goal shouldnt of even stood.. and our semi final has got lots to do with it because it proves we win chelsea more in semis because if you remember after that semi we didnt even win one game against them

I sense a bit of newbie bashing here. I think she was just pointing out how, at the moment, they aren't at their best.
Lay off.

How the hell could you say a European Cup Semi Final second leg was boring??
Yea, it wasn't a great display of football but BORING??

Have to agree with u there oasis, Im not looking forward to playing them at all, and have that gut feeling that we are gonna come away from the game feeling robbed AGAIN cos of poor refereeing decisions, diving, handballs, late tackles, and all the other shyte chelsea get up to and get away with! Mourinho acts like a moany f*cker on purpose to get everyone worked up, well its worked on me cos i hate the c*nt with a passion, everything about him makes me wanna punch the head off him!

I think we should be the ones fearing this match not them, they have beaten us too many times and all decisions have gone their way, we need a lot of luck and everyone to put in the best performance of the season if we are gonna win! I for one, am fearful! :(
