Hilarious itv report from after istanbul

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby stmichael » Thu Mar 23, 2006 7:59 pm

This is the ITV report just after the game in Istanbul last year. Can you spot the errors? At the beginning of the report, Sir Trevor 'lick lick' McDonald says Smicers penalty was the strike that sealed the win and sent fans into delirium. We know it was Dudek's save that did that. Next, Mr Establishment Long-Tongue said that the penalty shoot-out ended 4-2. It was 3-2 and Liverpool had a penalty to spare. Next Tim Ewart, looking like he's just lost all his money in a half-time bet, said the cup was lifted a few moments ago by Steven Gerrard and that it was Liverpool's 5th FA Cup! Erm, European Cup Tim, that's European cup. :D

Anyway, the news clip had great shots of the supporters in one Pub. Shouts of F*** n Hell when Crespo scored his first and Milan's 2nd and then scenes of delirium when Liverpool won after witnessing the greatest ever comeback in the competition's history. Look out for the Asian supporter who looks like he's never cheered on a goal before in his life.

:D I just got a chill when I heard the commentator saying "Hello. Hello. Here we go?!" I'll never forget it.

I tell you what, I know that some people here have their reservations about Clive Tyldesley, but I thought his commentary was absolutely first class for the final.

Contrast that with Alan Green on Five Live, who decided "This game's over" after Milan's second went in. :D

That fella is absolutely fookin' hilarious. Thought the guy in the blue shirt stood in front of the camera in the pub when the third goal went in was funny as well. He's looking like his heads gonna explode if he doesn't scream loud enough and his eyes look like they're gonna pop out of his head.
Absolute class - I might just go and watch the cup final DVD again. :p
