Have to agree with most of the posts he is well past his best really don`t see what he can offer us.

No. If Morientes has been enough to make Drummerphil angry, a combination with the non worker Raul, would send him early to the grave, dead due to disgust.

Not that Raul is cráp but if any, he'd be one of the Spanish players who would have a tough time adapting to the EPL style. He's not bad, he's very good, but not world class. But I couldn't tell if he's going to be successful, and for sure, he's an expensive player in wages and fee.

I think there are better options.

It's true, though, that for a Madrid captain, any other Spanish club is a bad option, Raul would rather go before abroad, rather than to another Spanish team. It's also true that Liverpool has the reputation it has and wouldn't be a step back for him. But I do not think Rafa is thinking on him to be honest.

BTW, so far, no news about this move in Spain, whatsoever, and AS and Marca do like talking about ANY rumour...

The way I look at it if Raul moves here

1) We would labelled the team "Real Rejects" go to finish their career.

or

2) We would be the best supported English team in Spain.

What with Rafa, their national captain and his sidekick here.

Raul will not come here. He is a spanish diva who demands ridiculous wages and could/would not deal with the fact that he would not be the best/most respected player (read Steven G).

Agree with that, past his best IMO - Although to be fair his best was pretty special.

He hasn't been doing well at R.Madrid for two years now, he's on his last legs. Would be a big mistake IMO, and as you said could turn out to be as bad, if not worse, than the Morientes signing.

World class at his peak, but no longer anywhere near that level. No thanks.
