Cisse can be called fit to burn all he likes, but I will defend him today, that he revealed his shirt to show his MRS and his offsprings names, he should not be slated nor slaughtered if it was Fowler or Carra instant legend for the same crime.
And he cannot be made a scapegoat when other scapegoats where not on the pitch. e.g. Traore.
Give the lad a break seasons nearly finished, 3 points today be happy.

Wrong. Doesnt matter how good the manager is you cant make a bad player good, tough sh!t, if that was the case anyone would be able to make it, Joe Cole has had England international potential since he was 16 and lampard showed lots of potential at West Ham, Chelsea payed 10 million for Lampard and you dont pay that for Average, well not if you have sense.

Same with Henry and he wasnt exactly going nowhere at juventus, they are kind of a big team and he was young at the time, i have no doubt Henry where ever he was would have been one of the best strikers in the world.

Rafa Benitez turned the biggest flop ever at Anfield (Argubly), Igor Biscan, into a player who left with his head held high, with a Champions League winners medal and Man of the match performances against Deportivo away and Leverkusen at home.

If Cisse had half the heart and Caracter that lad had then id be willing to give him ago but for what he lacks in ability he doesnt even make up for in effort, fighting, battling and giving a 100%.

maybe. But it would take a lot of work, a lot of patience and unfortunatley for Cisse, a lot of faith and i'm pretty sure Rafa has very little of that in the lad.

Joe Cole was a showboating little prik from West Ham. Thats East London, and people like him there ain't got the nicest personalities in the world either......Cisse's main problem is his arrogance, for people like Henry that can help but for Cisse, no. Take that away, what's left to work on?

Half of that you tell to a 10 year old who kid thinks he's shyt-hot. Getting through to a grown man is harder but it can and has been done.

lol i just read the thread above, and yeah he's right cos Cole and Lampard already had potential and obviously Henry did too. But it could have gone wrong for them too but you can't say the manager's they had didn't have anything to do with their success.
Perfect example = Duff and Cole. Both bright sparks, now when you see Duff he doesn't look like he did at blackburn, but cole obviously has improved more. why? maureen spent more time on Cole.
And Cisse must have some potential to be top scorer in the French league and has scored on an international level too.EPL is harder obviously, but all im saying is try to do summin with him, or end up wasting millions like on Owen.

also, Henry was a winger turned into a striker BY Wenger. now Cisse will never be good on the right of midfield, just like alan smith will never be good in the centre of midfield:D

Dont know where you going with this statement about East Londoners!!...........But anyway, he may have played for West Ham but he lived and was brought up in NORTH London. Fact.

At least get your facts about 'people like him' right if you're going to make such comments.

henry was a striker for monaco.. juve tried to tuen him into a LW player.

Err.... I think you'll find that's an "OPINION"

Not saying its right or wrong just that is cannot be defined as a 'fact'.

FWIW I think we saw two Cisses today. The first one was the Cisse we are more used to seeing. On the wing he's OK but he does not do himself any justice. Sure sometimes he can out pace a defender and whip in a pretty decent cross tbh, but it's obvious that he doesn't like to play there and is trying his best to follow Rafa's instructions and 'get to the byline and get the crosses in' whenever possible.

When Cisse moved in to the centre, we started to see him become much more comfortable, with some good little touches and the occasional dummy - one step over to leave it for Gerard being a great example. You could see too that the Newcastle defence had to re-adjust to address the threat of pace through the centre which allowed us to regain the initiative (not that we lost it as such- it just threw the barcodes while they came to terms with Rafas tactics).

I'd still like to see Cisse get a good 45 minutes as an out and out striker licensed to be 'greedy' when the opportunity is there. Fowler-Cisse maybe in a 3-5-2?

It was interesting to note how Stevie G ran straight to Cisse after scoring his goal from the Crouch assist - no sense of angst between the team there.... and allowing Cisse to take the penalty also implies that his team mates at least have confidence in his ability...

I guess Traore wasn't playing today though so we've got to have someone to slate!

ya i agree with what u are saying. seemed to me that cisse was getting on fine with everyone. nice to see gerrard run over and celebrate with him.

I don't know bout you guys..... but I think he's just too thick.... pretty one dimensional.... pace dependant, poor 1st touch etc etc.... all been discussed before.....

In the last game he behaved atrociously and would have gotten us into a potential disrepute charge.....

I know plenty of guys think that he needs to be given more of a chance than what Rafa's given him..... But there must be something going on in training that has given Rafa doubts bout him and not just that tired old Bull@#$t that Rafa doesn't like the french players..... He plays Traore often enough... :Oo:

I think that we need to stop grasping at straws as far as striking personnel is involved..... Djibril is not the answer..... Liverpool players have better sense and treat the opposition and their fans better (generally that is) that what this idiot has done..... When we got rid of the Wa!@ker Diouf, I breathed a huge sigh of relief...... BUT we seemed to have unearthed another sh!te in Cisse......

Probably get a lot of stick from the Cisse supporters but I'm of the opinion that it's time to cut our losses and get rid of the scum...... He's not LIVERPOOL....GH can have him back..... :veryangry

i think hes been playing well when given the few chances he has. and stevie g seems to like the guy.
saying hes rubbish is over the top. he played in some great crosses and made some good runs but he obviously needs to work on his mental side of the game more as he doesnt have the best footballing head

I thought some of the comments regarding Cisse's performance on Sunday were strange. He did Ok while confirming that he is not a right-winger. We all know well enough by now what to expect of him, he aint gonna blind you with intelligent play but get over it. I thought he did ok and contributed to a comfortable win.

mark walters would have done the same job but with some step overs, i know i have been abit harsh with cissie, but in my defence i haven't rated him since before he got injured

i would love to see him turn it around by the end of the season and show everybody wrong, agreed he could only do that if he was in his prefered position but even out wide he lacks some of the basics to play at the top, vision, skill, a knowledge of the off side rule, striking of the ball on target.

steve gerrard did a great captains job by making sure cissie got a big well done for his part in the goal and tv didn't show any boll@cking for not sliding a pass to kewell when he had the chance,

face it he is anelka, all the attribute and a terrible attitude

Anelka is in a different league to Cisse.
Far better touch and awareness.
We played really well yesterday and the win was so comfortable Rafa was able to bring of Stevie for tomorrow.
Cisse was his usual self imo, awful touch and no awareness at all.
The one in the second half when he shot when Kewell was unmarked in the centre was disgraceful....i would of dragged him off there and then, the team should always come first.
I do think he would contribute more if he was played in his natural position, playing him on the right is doing no-one any favours.
