I can't see us conceding (despite recent goals we've shipped) and I can't see us scoring for fun.  If we get an early goal I can see us winning 2-0, otherwise 1-0.

I remember Fowler`s Anfield-debut, scoring 5 goals against Fulham. This would be a perfect evening for repeating that...
I feel confident that the players will bounce back tonight, after a couple of poor performances lately. Considering the lack of killer instict in front of goal lately, 5 goals is probably a bit too optimistic, but I am convinced that we will win comfortably. 3-0, Fowler 2 and Gerrard 1

Aren't all squids at least slightly damp?

The players need a lift, so I hope the fans can show that they will always be behind the team.  Tonight would be a good time to show the "You'll Never Walk Alone" ethos.

Yeh but the saying is damp squib not damp squid lol. I think a squib is a firework or something? Which means if it was damp then it wouldn't work so its a disappointment hence the saying.

And the score tonight 2-0 from Fowler.

I'm with Mike on the non-dry seafood analogy, classic :D What we need is a win. Anywin, a lucky 1-0 with a dodgy penalty. Whatever, we need to win.

What we really need is a 2/3-0 victory and to control the game. Maybe doubt is starting to creep into the minds of the players, they may be asking themselves “was that 10 game run just luck? Do we really deserve 2nd/3rd.?” The team needs a bit of confidence, the media has done a grade A job in knocking us in terms of goal scoring and we need to put some of it to rest. We need a convincing performance not only to shut the media up but also to reignight some self belief.

2/3 – 0, with at least 1 striker to get a goal.
