BUFFEL FLATTERED BY REDS INTEREST
Thursday 6th May 2004

Feyenoord midfielder Thomas Buffel has revealed he is flattered at reported interest from Liverpool in his services.
Reports in Holland claim Liverpool had representatives watch Buffel in international action for Belgium against Turkey last week.

Liverpool have been linked with the goalscoring midfielder in the past and it is believed that The Reds have rekindled their interest in Buffel.

Buffel, who has also been linked with a move to Galatasaray, admitted he would have to consider a move to Liverpool if they tried to sign him.

"It is possible they were impressed by my play in that match (against Turkey). And if a club like them is interested you have to listen," Buffel told Dutch newspaper Gazet van Antwepen.

"It's too early to speak about concrete interest."

Buffel is unsure of his future at Feyenoord and Reds boss Gerard Houllier could be keen to bring him to Anfield as he plans to rebuild his squad after a disappointing season.

ok, ignore that cr@p. i bet you by the end of the summer we will have been linked with over 100 players. i just don't believe any of it until i hear it from the players themselves.

we can't sign more unknown foreigners. if we want a central midfielder from abroad go for thomas rosicky. dortmund are in a financial mess and the guy is best mates with milan baros. oh yeah and he's awesome aswell!

i don't rate rosicky that high cause he's imo physically to weak! good player but not awesome.

i gotta agree with stmichael here. rosicky would be a class buy and a potential gift judging by the state of his current team

yeh rosicky would be great. He scores and creates goals and is very skilfull. A midfielder like him would bring something to our midfield that imo we are lacking at present.

his work rate is very good from what i've seen. tackling is not his forte. he's a creative attacking midfielder. watch him in euro 2004. i've got a bet on the czechs to win the tournament. :)

i know this might sound a tad mean, but i really hope that guy overnight grows grotesque, becomes slow and rubbish, starts stalking his boss and gives away loads of penalties....

tony adams has been quoted today as saying that england should leave michael owen out against france and play rooney as a lone striker because "he's better at holding the ball up"

shame to see tony's back on the bottle again. i hope he's not driving tonight. :D
