All this talk of mexes signing is rubbish as houllier will have a ready made excuse if he doesnt cut it next season.
The usual he needs time to settle will be spun and we will turn into a team of french misfits if anymore average overpriced overpaid french players join.
It looks like Cisse is on his way so I wont say how we could again be getting better value for money as he has potential.
I have nothing against french players as I am recommending we sign Gallas as the pacey centre half we so desperately need.
With chelsea buying players in the summer I reckon he will be surplus to requirements and exactly the player we need.
He has performed consistently well for the last few seasons and I reckon we could pick him up for 5 or 6m.

Id klove Gallas but would prefer Upson or Dawson. Id like ayoung quick midfielder and i think we need to improve our quota of english players. Thats not a bad comment to make i dont think, plsu i think they would be class in our team. Gallas wouldnt upset me if he joined tho i have to admit, as long as we sign smeone at the back with a little pace

Gallas would be a good signing but i cant see chelsea letting him go! Even if Walter Samuel signs for them it would be to replace desaily i think not Terry or Gallas!

Upson i'm not convinced about as i also feel about Dawson!

Mexes i think is far from an average player and have no probs with him!

I can see what you mean about more English players i too would like to see that but i think our acadamy should provide there!

Lets just hope who ever is brought has pace and good defensive ability.

Yeah why don't you recommend signing Saha, Ferdinand, Vieira and Pires aswell???

Stop dreaming and wake up. Gallas is highly unlikely to leave Chelsea, he's one of the best centre halfs in the country.

As for Dawson are you having a laugh? The lads a division 1 players and isn't going to improve the team at all. In a few years he may become a superb centre half but at the moment he's a long way off and to suggest you'd rather see Upson ahead of Gallas is damn right madness. Yes Upson's english but so what? Gallas is in the class above.

I cant think of any other CLASS Centre Halfs with pace to bring in!

Mexes has never really struck me as partiularly quick. Haven't seen much of him to be honest, when i do watch Auxerre on eurosport or see highlights or when they played against us i didn't notice him.

Boumsong would have been the answer imo. Free aswell but he's a money grabbing fool who wanted the challenge of playing in scotland against Sutton and Hartson 4 times a season.

Out of the 2 Mexes has always produced the better more established role!

He is not as pacey as Gallas but he is much quicker the Hypia n Henchoz

I'm glad we did not sign Boumsong he would not have been fully commited to LFC just his pay check

Dawson or Upson ...dont make me laugh.

Mexes is class and all of us hould be jumping for joy if we even come close to signing him.

Gallas might want a transfer what with Walter Samuel coming in the summer ... he wont get his game over terry samuel or desailly and who knows if they'll get another one.

If you really want a pure class and young central defender then look no further than Christian Chivu...too bad he is out of our reach. Ajax are willing to let him go for 13mil and I would have no hesitation in paying that for him. But Roma look favorites to sign him after his great loan spell with them... p.s. Roma took him on loan because FIFA wouldnt let them sign antone because of the bad financial sotuation but this summer they'll have money from selling samuel and will probably buy him.

I know this may sound stupid, but what about mellberg? Hes pacey, not a bad player... id go for him (in a footballing way!)

Mellburg what shi*e Upson would be good business in a swap for Heskey as Birmingham want him bad

Okay, Mellberg has actually had a great season and is a good defender. Rather have ehiog??? Isnt he like 47 or something? Id like dawson as hes young and i think could do a good job but upson would be best.
Mellberg isnt that bad tho

I was thinking Melberg myself but he's not exactly class. He's no better than Henchoz, i think he'd suit the system better than Stephane but to be honest i'd rather see Carragher in there than Melberg. He's not a spring chicken either.

If Henchoz leaves then i would go for Dawson as backup as he could become a superb player. Upson is a player i like. Woodgate would be immense but thats not gonna happen.
