Now these three forwards above have been linked with Liverpool over the last couple of months. I understand from a contact in the club that Cisse was a done deal almost twelve months ago, but I would like to know who you people would prefer to see alongside Michael Owen next year.

If you selected Other, then give us your selection, but please be realistic, dont be posting Vieri, Ronaldo or Henry (or the like) for gods sake.

Dont be posting Michael is leaving, I know for a fact that he will sign a one year extension, but just for the sake od this poll presume he will be here anyhows.

If you have voted for one of the players as opposed to others, give us some good reasons for your selection.

Please Keep It Realistic.

GOD BLESS

it's funny you mention vieri. his contract expires this summer so he would be available on a bosman. he may be 31 but the guy is a proven goalscorer. :)

Do you see him swapping the glamour and culture of Milan to move to Blundellsands or Birkdale?

Not after having been reportedly moving to Chelsea for big money and big wages. My point on him is he wants too much money and is a bit of a troublemaker (ie his ego). Also, he is not a player I think would work his socks off on a wet and freezing cold Wednesday evening away to Middlesborough.

yeah but everyone would have said that about ravanelli before he went to middlesbrough. it's a fair point about his wages though. i think he's on about 120k a week at inter.

I am not keen about Cisse, but I am giving him a chance to prove himself that he's worth a 14m player so he is my choice.

But I wouldn't mind to have Fernando Morientes, he has done really well for AS Monaco this season and I think he will be back in Real Madrid's squad next season.

Im gonna go with Cisse, ive seen some of the games hes played in france and hes like a one man show there. He looks like Heskey but with pace and ability... and i think he can play alongside Owen.
Smith would be ncie but he hasnt got the greatest disciplinary record (im sure we could sort that out) and his goalscoring record isnt the best either. So im going for Cisse

Or Shevchenko

yeah im going for cisse as well, i saw him play in france this season and he is a goalscorer no doubt about it but he will also compliment owen as he is big and strong, but with the two of them they will have lightning pace and score goals i think it will be a great partnership!
kezman is definitely not coming his agent admitted liverpool have not been in contact and kezman was just stating that he would like to play for liverpool, he's not that great either! smith wouldnt be bad but not really an otu and out goalscorer, cisse is top scorer in france four ahead of dider drogba!

cisse it is :)

Cisse for sure...he got the skills that can be usefull for owen in the front!!

Kluivert maybe ??? coz he got strong aerial skills in front of goal weather offense or defense.and also a good running & tracking skills that can confuse opponent.

:)  :p

Cisse for me too.

He is highly rated by the French National outfit and lets face it they have some pretty good strikers to compare him to!
I feel his pace strength and natural ability to find the net are the attributes we need up front.
At last not only is there someone who may compliment owen up front but also someone who in their own right can score and take pressure off mickey to be the sole goal source!

yeah we need cisse because in the infamous words of glenn hoddle, "michael owen isn't a natural goalscorer!"

yeah right glenn! :D

Morientes is the man if we are looking for a target man to play with Owen.He also has immense skill and would IMO be a better bet than Cisse.
No doubt cisse has potential but anything like 14m is just a rip off and we could get proven quality for that amount.
Trezequet is being offered to clubs for amount the same amount we are supposedly paying for Cisse and has proven himself at the highest level.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

HE IS NOT GOING TO BE 14M, THAT WAS ALL MEDIA, ITS 6M UP FRONT 4M IN INSTALLMENTS AND 2M BASED ON APPEARANCES AND SUCCESS!
CISSE IS A CLASS ACT AND THATS GREAT VALUE WERE GETTING HIM AT, REAL WANTED HIM TWICE, HE IS TOP SCORER IN FRENCH LEAGUE WITH 25 GOALS 4AHEAD OF DIDIER DROGBA, AND THE FRENCH LEAGUE IS A GOOD LEAGUE LOOK AT MONACO AND MARSEILLES IN EUROPE THEYRE NO MUGS!

MORIENTES IS A LAZY TART, HE IS ONLY TRYING HARD IN EUROPE AGAINST BIG TEAMS, APART FROM THAT HE HAS DONE f##k ALL IN THE FRENCH LEAGUE HE'S LIKE VIDUKA! :)

This is good as 30 mill less 6 mill  leaves plenty for Centre mid centre half and right mid
