LIVERPOOL VS CHARLTON - time to turn it up a notch

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I'm sorry to say at the moment, but, Mori will start upfront with Fowler. Rafa as stubborn as he is, will sub Fowler for Crouch and Mori will finally break his duck.

Fowler and Mori to score in a 2-0 win.

I'd be happy with that.  Better if Crouch comes on and scores the third though!  :D

I have this recurring dream that Morrientes will start and given an extended run so that he can "do something to boost his confidence". In this dream, Morrientes keeps doing his neat tricks like killing the ball dead with his chest but still fail to deliver where it counts - scoring or making that definitive assist. The Liverpool fans kept venting their frustrations by the very unusual way of booing but to no avail...

Me too.

I keep thinking when I'm trying to get to sleep; "Boo louder tonight", but it doesn't work!  :D

Then I have a really good dream about Eva Longoria!!!!!  :;):

Seriously though - Rafa has GOT to drop him soon, SURELY!?!

It's all very well playing him through his drought, but there are more prolific strikers missing out at a time when we NEED goals.

Slap him in the reserves until he starts scoring.

these days a liverpool 1-0 scoreline is a predictable one.if they get that 2mrw its good enough coz nxt weeks the realy big match. but i hope it finishes 2-0 liverpool it gives that much more confidence that we can end benfica's champions league season on wednesday.

second place is ever so important it means liverpool avoiding playing qualifying matches 4 UCL next season and avoiding starting there season early again com nxt season

chalton go down 2mrw 2-0 (kewell; fowler)

Nando will start, because rafa is waiting for the flood gates to open, to all of us it looks like an obcession with a former great of european football, sell him to bolton in the summer

crouch and fowler look the best pair on paper with luis coming off the bench to add fair late on.

i said 3-1 earlier and stand by that. cause we have to start scoring soon.

Benfica will realise that they got out played at home and try and defend deep and catch us on the counter attach or another set piece

Think resting players is important... but need to keep strength and flair so i would have carra hamann as the stranth and play garcia behing front 2. However, unsure if Finnan will be fit so....

If finnan fit:
                         Pepe
Finnan       Carra          Agger-do          Riise

                         Hamann
Kronkamp                                       Kewell
                      Garcia

                Cisse            Fowler

But if Finnan unfit.......
                            Pepe
Kromkamp       Carra          Agger-do          Riise

Garcia           Hamann        Alonso            Kewell

                     Cisse            Fowler

Crouchinio to replace Cisse on 60 mins.

2-0

-- tho moro will prob start & it'll be 1-0  :p

They dont travel well thats true , but they have looked a lot more threatening up front lately with the Bent boys, however...I dont think theyll have enough . Ill be brave and predict us to dominate the game, and win 1-0 :)

My hunch is that we'll concede if Finnan is out and Agger plays for Hyppia (which is my other hunch).  I like a settled defence, but if we do concede I reckon we can get Robbie off the mark.  He's been knocking on the door, so I reckon it'll open.

My prediction is 2-1 for the lads (but my predictions are ALWAYS wrong).

Imo, Hamann is better than Momo in our defencive game, but when it comes to the offencive game we suffer from the loss of Momo`s energy and pace. When pitching Alonso and HAmann I fear that there will be a gap between the central mid and the attackers, which implicates a lack of support for our men up front. There is no point for Crouch/Morientes/Fowler to win in the air, if there are noone to pick up the second ball. In a match like this, where we (hopefully) will hold the ball a lot, I would really like to have someone there to fill the void between the mids and the attackers. There are no players in the world better than our own Stevie G when it comes to that. I would love to see an Alonso - Gerrard pairing on our central mid; with Gerrard taking a big offencive responsibility

Play Hyypia upfront, you saw him against Juventus, cool, calm & collective infront of goal & his shot showed it.

Bit off the subject, but since Oasis referred to Hyypia, anyone remember when Arsenal played Keown up top in an euro game?  It was crazy, he scored 2 or 3 in 30 minutes.

One of those memories that will always stick with me that one.  :D
