What the hell was that music which was played after the final whistle at Anfield on Sunday?

Did anyone notice? It was a sort of dirge like funeral procession type of thing. Slow mournfull piano with orchestration. I thought it was quite surreal after a good result. As I walked down the Kop steps I kept looking for a coffin to file past.

Weird choice. Is George on drugs?

I have a question:

Does anyone know what that tune is that they play at Newcastle Utd games before every home match?

It's the same tune every match!!!

I've heard it on Sky Sports over and over again.

its called local hero by mark knopfler, its on his album and its on a dire straits album, its class when it comes on and shearer hits the turf.

i wrote to liverpool football club earlier on in the season to complain about our goal celebration music. unfortunately i can't remember what the tune is! :laugh:

Hiya rse, Dalglish here. I thought I was the only one who thought it sounded like a death March song !!!!! I think George thinks with the Successful 2008 culture bid he needs to re-eduacate us in the classical music scene !LOL
