LIVERPOOL VS BENFICA - PRE MATCH DISCUSSION

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Mightmo, you are so stupid and arrogant.. only a person with no knowledge about football can compare our palmares with Chelsea..

About fans: well, almost 50% of people living here support us. Have Liverpool all that support in england. Certainly no, but i don't care.. There are 4million portuguese living outside the country. Good part of them support us. A lot of people from ex-colonies support us too. Result =14Million. then, here in Lisbon, we have a real derby, with 2 teams with good palmares. Liverpool's derby sucks.

You can be european champion, i respect LFC and its fans and palmares, but u don't even know what is a national title.. the last was 20 years ago?

In anfield, it will be real hard. But don't be so confident. To score, you have to attack! And in Lisbon, your performance was as much defensively as boring. 2 european titles and 8 european finals deserve respect.

Fact about a neutral country: A few people do gather in pubs and ask the bartender to tune games of Liverpool. I have never seen such a thing with Benfica, nor Porto, nor Sporting Lisboa, let alone Vitoria de Guimaraes or Os Belenenses.

I recognize that in britain, the vocal support is very strong. But you have it too in greece, turkey, south america, asia... you are not so special! An eagle flying like a God.. that's unique!

Of course, the english football is more popular and have better players and more money than ours. That's the marketing power too..

If you think that it isn't a fantastic moment of proud the moment when the eagle fly to our symbol, and ppl feel it as a trancendent act, what can i do?

I use  :sleep  to introduce your performance here.

Theres no reasoning with Benfica fans. You have to face the truth. You may be a big team in your country but there is no comparison to the big teams of the world. I support Universitario de Deportes. Most people here have never heard of us and yet here in Peru we are huge. We have 28 million citizens and about 6 million are cremas (universitario fans). We are huge in our countries but not outside, even if there are fans out there.

PS: Don't say I am not a Liverpool fan. I wake up early in the morning every time they play, when its not on TV I watch streaming, when there is no streaming then I just read the text of how the game is going. I also get all magazines and newspapers possible that have news of the reds. That includes comming to this forum to post about the greatest team in the world (shared award with Universitario :rasp ).

Lost in translations: In the Iberian peninsula, recognize=admit.

But English crowd is much more than vocal support and noise. Have you ever seen a latin cultured crowd disaproving the diving of an own player? Do the Argentinians clap a performance of a rival team often? and if you Focus in the Anfield Crowd, the singularities are even more awesome and respectable.

In the previous answer to me you stress the concept "power of marketing". I think you underrate the power of tradition and history.

Oh richard.. you can have a better team, but saying that u played better than us in the 1st leg. How if lfc just fight for the draw?

And sabre, power of marketing and money is important too..
