I think it all depends on the 2 away games. 4 wins away from home out of 17 is awful (against Chelsea, Blackburn, Everton and Fulham). No away wins against the bottom 4 teams - we could have another 9 points if we had won.
Form book goes out of the window against Man U so it depends on who is most up for it. Birmingham is worrying though because they are a bloody good team so i would take a draw.
I still think that unfortunately it will come down to the Newcastle game.

Feeling more optimistic today. Lets take 1 game at a time. I have a feeling that we will beat charlton 4-0.

Of course GH will give an interview condemning everyone who criticizes his team....... :p

And if they don't get rid of Houllier will you please "support" someone else??

I can't be doing with another season of reading how you wish we'd lose so he'd get sacked.

Don't call me kid, sh1thead

You sound like you do support someone else because the most ardent fans of Houllier support other clubs  :(

I want the best for Liverpool FC and if that means Kermit going then that's what I want. If your support is reflected by your opinions then it is barely worth considering

Well the 9 people so far who voted 13-18 points are only one defeat away from looking very stupid :D

I reckon we'll somehow scrape wins over Middlesboro and Fulham, but lose to Man UTD and fail to win against Newcastle on the last day.

The Birmingham game is very important: fail to win that and we can forget about the last day against Newcastle.

Only a miracle (like Newcastle bottling it in the run in) will save us, but finishing 4th with around 56 or 57 points would be embarassing.

I reckon Birmingham will be a draw 0:0 .........or possibly another Charlton.......we go down again to less talented but more spirited opposition by 1 goal.

Last six fixtures (current position and reverse fixture result)

Charlton (h) L0-1 (8th, L2-3 at The Valley)
Fulham (h) D0-0 (10th, W2-1 at Loftus Road)
Man Utd (a) 24-04-04 (3rd, L1-2 at Anfield)
Middlesboro (h) 01-05-04 (11th, D0-0 at The Riverside)
Birmingham (a) 08-05-04 (6th, W3-1 at Anfield)
Newcastle (h) 15-05-04 (5th, D1-1 at St James Park)

Points so far = 1/6
Points possible = 13/18
Maximum total = 62 (64 last season)

We picked up 8 points from a possible 18 in the reverse fixtures. The same fixtures last season produced WWLDLD = 8 points so the omens are not good.

Results this season

Top Three : P5 W1 D0 L4 (W20%, D0%, L80%)
Top Half : P15 W4 D3 L8 (W27%, D20%, L53%)
Bottom Half : P19 W9 D8 L2 (W47%, D42% L11%)
Bottom Three : P6 W3 D3 L0 (W50%, D50%, L0%)

Last 60 games - P60 W22 D18 L20 PTS 84 (1.4 pts/game)

We would just be ahead of Arsenal's total this season IF we had played 60 games compared to their 33

Points so far - 4/9
Points possible - 13/18

Anything is still possible, Newcastle do have two games in hand and it could still hang on the last game of the season. The reverse fixtures this season of our last three games produced 5 points (DWD), the same fixtures last season produced 2 points (DLD)

Another 3 points to put our destiny in our own hands and paper over the cracks. We should have picked up three wins at home, the win over manure at old toilet only conceals such facts and while we sit in fourth Houllier has at least that to hang on to and milk some more  :(

I still fear there will be a sting in the tail of this season. A win at Birmingham may not be gained and we would then look at the possibility of having to beat Newcastle at Anfield last game of the season. There is that pile of ***** Villa to consider too, while I think some of their fans are getting carried away in speculating that they will contest a top three spot next season they still pose a threat this season. I don't read too much into their result yesterday, beating a mediocre spurs side 1-0 may be better than we managed this season, but is a far cry from the kind of form which would suggest top three is on the cards

Pile of ***** or not Owzat, there is no denying what O'Leary has achieved at Villa this year, getting the youngsters to gel effectively with the more experienced players and mostly, getting Angel to score by the hatful.

I agree with you as I am not convinced that Villa will be chasing 3rd place next year, but I do wish our manager can produce half the achievement of O'Leary at Villa and then, only then can we fans start dreaming again...
