I saw him play a few time for PSV last year and he was playing on the right wing and he impressed me. But as far as I know he may be playing up front now.

Castelan is a better option if you ask me.

I asked on the first PSV forum I came across what PSV fans thought of Farfan. This was the first response I got.

It wouldn't surprise me at all, if he can be added up to a long list of delicate players, which have started their (European) carreer at PSV Eindhoven, like Romario, Ronaldo, and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Simply because he is an absolute crack!

By the way, I'm not sure about clausules in his contract, and I don't wanna know either. As I'm quite convinced of the fact we will lose him anyway, at the end of the season...

This link PSV Forum will take you to further responses which in essence say that they don't want to sell him but understand that money talks. Chelsea are rumoured to have already made an offer and the figure of 10mill Euros is mentioned.

Todays people newspaper says Blackburn are ready to offer 2 million for Pongelle,and Rafa wants David Villa from Valencia.

Murphy0151 - what Riise have you been watching?!?!? He has been, and continues to be, an outstanding servant to the club. Apart from Ashley Cole I can't think of a left back I would rather have at the club. Maybe Bridge but thats about it!!

I think Rafa will have a bit of a further clear out in the summer but I don't see him selling Pongolle. I think he offers us something different. I was disappointed to see him leave on loan in January. David Villa would be a quality addition to the squad.

No Farfan Bid from Chelsea

Chelsea have not made a bid for PSV striker Jefferson Farfan according to his agent. There have been reports that the blues had agreed a £6 million deal for the player but this has been rejected.

"It isn't true that there is an offer from Chelsea," said Raul Gonzalez. "There isn't even an offer from any other European team."

"The truth is that Jefferson is playing very well at PSV Eindhoven and he is scoring goals every week," added Gonzalez. "I don't like to work like other agents do, I don't like the show business and I am not going to use Chelsea's name for creating interest from other European teams in Farfan.

"That's not the way in which I work so I must say as well that there isn't anything with Barcelona, another team to which Farfan has been linked.

"Maybe in June there could be some news and interest in Farfan, but it will have to be serious because he is not going to be transferred to a small team just to be able to play in England.

"It will have to be a big team that would mean a progression in Jefferson's career."

LOL his agent says 'a big team' and mentions playing in England. Reading between the lines it looks like he's touting for an offer.... He' on 19 goals for the season now too including goals against AC Milan and Fenerbache...ESPN stats

he is spains top goalscorer i believe this season with 15 goals.
he plays for valencia, is 24 years old and is a regualr with the national team as well

rafa wouldnt pay over 10 million for no player so if we did find a decent striker he wud av 2 be young and tallented like a younger leo messi all our top players have came through the academy such as carragher gerrard owen and fowler i would like to see torres kuyt and joaquin come to anfield but the price of them is very expensive but in the long run we cud win more tropies with them and we wud probably make more from them
