Pongo joins blackburn - On loan

You need to look at the bigger picture, I am a fan of Pin Pong, but realistically he never does IT consistantly.  He is a little light weight and nothing more than a squad player at Liverpool at present.

After being at Blackburn for 6 months he will come back a better player.  Benitez has got this one spot on!

He is not a winger..  and although we never bought one in the transfer window, we all know our best mid field line up at present includes Steven Gerrard playing on the right.  Why change this??

Our forward line will always include Crouch, and that leaves Morientes, Folwer and Cisse fighting for the 2nd place.  Poor old (young) Sinama is not going to get a look in.  Better to have him playing most weeks in a competitive league, under a good (ish) manager, than sitting on the bench feeling left out!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

just looking at it, we could field an entire team with the players we have out on loan at the moment.

                                     Kirkland

                      Raven - Medjani - Whitbread

                  Potter - Diao - Cheyrou - González

                                   Le Tallec

                        Sinama-Pongolle - Mellor

Quite a decent team that....  :D

Firstly i don't buy this lightweight bull. He holds the ball up well and uses his body and agility well.

Secondly the only reason Cisse is ahead of him in the pecking order is as i said above. Its not because he's a better player.

Pongolle has never had the chance to do it consistently. He's come in made an impression, had a bad game, been dropped then not seen for weeks. He needs a run, he's a lad who has ability.

I don't like the give him time, give him a run arguement with players like Cisse/Traore as they have had numourous chances and shown nothing, but Sinama always shows something when he's given cameo roles and in my opinion deserves a 6/7 game run to see exactly what he's capable of.

:bump  didn't think it was worth a new thread

Florent Sinama-Pongolle is determined to make up for lost time at Liverpool by making the most of a loan switch to Blackburn.

The French striker joined Rovers on transfer deadline day after falling out of favour under Reds manager Rafa Benitez.

The former Le Havre youngster made his Rovers debut in the team's disappointing 2-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion at the weekend but believes happier times lie ahead for his new employers.

And, from a personal perspective, Sinama-Pongolle hopes to use the extended playing time at Rovers to erase the disappointment of a failure to land a first team place at Anfield.

"It has been a little bit frustrating," Sinama-Pongolle told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"When you are a player you just want to play some games, and when you are not doing that, it becomes even more difficult to get your place.

"That's why Benitez let me come here and I just want to show what I can do, and what I can do for the team.

"If I can do my best for Blackburn Rovers, and help the team finish near the top of the table, then that can only be good for me and good for them.

"I don't see why we can't finish in a European place at the end of it."

Rovers beat off competition from the likes of Auxerre and Bordeaux to land the player and Sinama-Pongolle admits the move could work out well for both parties.

"I spoke to my agent a week before the transfer window closed and we tried to find a solution," added Sinama-Pongolle.

"There were clubs in France and England who were interested in me, but I decided to come here because I thought it would be good for me - hopefully, it's good for the club too.

"Benitez wanted me to stay in England so he could see me, and this is a really good challenge for me."

-------------------------------------------------------

sounds like he may come back. rafa just giving him experience, as pongo said he wants to watch him.

WHy on earth has Pongy gone to Blackburn when we are struggling to score!

He should have played more 1st team football!

His touch and finish is already better than Cisse and Moro.

pongolle has been on ssn moaning about not getting enough chances and when they come he scores and gets dropped anyway.

I don't like player going to the media to voice there complains but the lad has a point, we are in abit of a striker drowt and when he has come into the team he has done well, only to be dropped out of the squad the very next game,

maybe there is more going on behind closed doors but i rate him higher than cissie upfront and on the right, he is more likely to turn a game than nando and is fitter and quicker than fowler even if he hasn't got the same finishing ability,

he will not have done his chances of coming back any good by having a dig at rafa on the tele, and we may lose a great young foward to a cr@p club like blackburn for hardly any money,  mellor will never make it but pongo has a chance.....

No its Hank from Fulham  :D

Sorry to see Pongo go on loan but hopefully a decent run in their 1 st team will make him a better player.
Would have preferred to have seen stay though i can understand logic of the pecking order and keeping others players in the shop window
