By your definition of such, we already have that in Crouch. One good season! In all seriousness, though, if people can't see and recognize the positive affect he's had on the team that's insane. Although he's hasn't played well in a couple of games here and there and has wasted a few chances, he's still definitely an option worth having up front. There's 2 other strikers at the club who's roles should be questioned before we start to look at Crouch.   

Anyway, as for the 3-5-2 formation - I would prefer it to  4-5-1.  That's the only time I would like to see it used, when there is a "need" or "want" to play 3 central midfielders.  I don't rate finann as a "wing-back", though. Someone like Daniel Alves would be perfect for that role (I would definitely like to have in the squad, hope we go back in for him). You really have to have the right players to pull that formation off effectively, or else it just ends up looking like you have 5 at the back and the attacking threat of such a formation is lost..
