Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

One thing that really stood out for me is how prolific we were from set pieces, which are absolutely crucial in big games and tight matches.
We had the legendary Gary Mac taking most of them, who would more times than not, corners/free kicks in the right area.

Our set pieces at present are simply attrocious and need serious improvement. Most of them are completely wasted and the "touch" free kick annoys the hell out of me.

Thoughts?

Decent shout Mudface , there was a time when I rubbed my hands in anticipation when we won a corner/free kick now that expectation of a forthcoming goal has been reduced to nothing more than a faint hope . Perhaps we have been somewhat unlucky with our free kicks ? Alonso,Gerrard and Hamman between them have the talent to deliver a variety of free kicks .Our lack of success from corners however continues to baffle me .Considering the height of our team you would expect a better return from them.

recognition at last

Chelskis Geremi is a decent dead ball specialist.
He has already scored in Egypt wit a superb free kick and he's also reliable on the right wing.

Do you reckon it would be wise to go for im in the summer?
I bet he's tired of warming maureens bench  :)

I wouldn't sign a player purely for their dead ball skills ( :D  ) But if I was to seriously consider it I'd go for Beckham  :wwww , it would also solve out right mid vacancy . Sounds daft I know but I don't really participate in games of "Player Manager "

:D

One thing that stood out for me on the DVD was how many chances Baros used to miss every game. :(
