Come on some of you, be a little bit more positive.

A draw is not good enough and Chelsea certainly wont beat us.

I believe that all the players will be up for this one (they have to be, as should be the case- always), especially Robbie.

I believe we will win this game and this will be a terrific boost for the remaining games. The players know they have to win.

So how do they have the ''meanest'' defence in the Premiership?

Errr..., surely AB if they've conceded the same number of goals as us having played 2 games more then the logiical conclusion based on this stat alone is that they have the most miserly defence in the division. You could possibly make the case that as we conceded four in the one game the stats are somewhat distorted but I think it's probably fair to say their defence is pretty miserly.

We have to pack the midfield on sunday or else they will walk all over us again. I hope Rafa goes for 4-5-1 and plays Alonso, Sissoko and Hamann in the center of midfield. Gerrard and Kewell out wide and Crouch up front.

But if he does go for 4-4-2 then he should play Crouch with Garcia just playing off him and drop Didi.

Hoping Fowler will come on and grab a goal, I reckon we should get about 10 goals out of him, which IMo would be good considering hes far from fit and none of our other strikers can do the business at the moment.

I expect the boss to start with Garcia playing just behind Crouch. We'll play tight and compact and try to break quickly with Stevie and Kewell getting forward to suppport the big man up-front. I would be VERY surprised if Robbie got a start in this one and don't personally believe he is in shape to bother the Chelsea defence from the first whistle.
I'm not expecting us to win the game and that's mostly on the basis that Moureen hasn't lost a home game since he's been at the Bridge (at least defo in the league) but having said that Chelsea are not playing so good recently (in fact they haven't really played all that well all season which is a bit scary) so we are in with a shout if we can nick the first goal.

Walked all over us? Hardly...

Match Stats
                      Liverpool Chelsea
Shots (on Goal) 11(5)      7(5)
Fouls               15          17
Corner Kicks      4           2
Offsides            0           7
Possession        55%       45%
Yellow Cards      1           3
Red Cards          0           0
Saves               6           6

This game epitomised the difference between us and them. Chelsea took advantage of their chances we didnt. Otherwise we controlled the game for much of the time and it was only when we went for it at the end that Chelsea scored their second on the break and the wheels fell off.

If we can pull of the that performance again but perhaps stay a little bit more conservative as the game winds down than last time we have a very good chance of beating them.

Our defence have shown that they can completely nullify Robben, Duff, Drogba and Crespo so it will be up to us to take our chances as limited as they may be.

I'd start with Robbie as he is the biggest unknown for Mourinho and I'd like to see him get as many chances to score as possible. 20 minutes at the end will not neccessarily be enough to give him the 2 or 3 chances he needs to convert 1.

Professor BigMick is correct AB .

On the figures supplied we have conceded .59 goals per game ,whilst Chelsea have conceded .54 . They indeed have a more miserly defence than us .

just read the metro this morning on the way to work (freebie london tabloid thingy... anyways) and fat JT was talking about how chelsea need to win the game to show they are not having a nightmare year. he article actually wasnt that bad. i think john terry has more thana little respect for us... which was nice and there were underlying tones of fear in the way he was written.

Anyways sundays game is gonna indeed be a corker, and i think we can beat there (2 year?) run by defeating them at the bridge) and a 7/2 price for us is genius... gonna have a saver on 1-1 tho

No one can deny that we controlled the games against Man U and Birmingham and yet somehow we came away with only 1 point . Our inability to take advantage of our numerous chances in those games was/is for me very disquieting, BUT football being the way it is I wouldn't be suprised if we see a reverse of the previously mentioned games whereby despite not controlling the match and being forced to play a primarily defensive game we come away with a 1-0 win .
