LFC VS CHELSEA - Build up...

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

a draw would be a great result here. i don't think they'll be many chances in the game. the match at anfield earlier in the season was a freakish game to say the least.

agreed a draw would be a good result  but tbh chelski are not as invincible as they looked earlier in the season  teams understand how they play now more than before  dont get me wrong im not saying its easy to stop them playing  all 11 of our red shirts will have to be at there best come sunday to get something  but i really think our defence can cope with them  our strikers must perform  if they do we have a chance to take chelski at the bridge...WOULDN,T THAT BE THE DOGS BOL.LOCKS...

we'll lose 1-0 or 2-1

sorry, but we can never beat them in the EPL.

I would be ecstatic if we won, but if I properly think about it I know that we're gonna get beaten.

or maybe a draw considering I've just realised that they're going through a bad patch of form :D

Id be happy with a point, lets face it if you are a Manure fan then you are going to be supporting Chelski on Sunday.

It will be another close game with little chances for either side. I cant see Robbie starting, but Alonso and Jamie should both be back in the stating line up

Redman in wales wrote:Its definately the best time to play them... as they're on a slump, but so are we: 4 points from our last 4 league games. Though we have been unlucky (lastnight + manure)... That said we really need to fire on all cylinders to even get a point....

... which i think we will..... C'mon redmen!!!!   1-0 to the pool...crouch '57

They will be up for the game on Sunday. Terry spoke today about the ''slump'' and he laughed it off, he believes Sunday is the best time to prove that there isn't no slump.

We are playing one of the most toughest teams in europe in their own home. I dunno, correct me if im wrong, but i think we don't have a good record at stamford bridge plus Chelsea are going to be up to it! Mourinoh won't take anything for granted because they will be playing the Champions of Europe. I think Benitez will concentrate on how we can hit Chelsea at the break or find some weeknesses in their defence. Im sure we learned from our mistakes last time and this score line won't happen again. i predict a 0-0

I'm not saying that I'm not confident, but after they dripped us 4-1 at our place, I'm half tempted to spend this one cowering under the covers. We've got great quality at the moment and Chelsea are having a bit of a wobble right now, so we do have a chance, but I run out of nails to chew every week as it is and I'm smoking 20 a match anyway. So for the sake of my lungs and the emery-board industry, I think I'll try and relax this weekend. :D

Chelsea are on a bad run of form ...well by their standards anyway!!

They have drawn their last 3 games, hardly a crisis but still not great and not what Ze special one would expected.
So why the dip in form??
Is it fatigue, lack of confidence or is their great oh so special team spirit they like to tell the world about slightly in decline??

Who knows,who gives a fu.ck really??
Raffa has to!! Maybe theres cracks beginning to show because too many players have got too big for there boots as the Mega million machine has paid double price for players too often hence doubling the size of their ego's!!
I always thought that there would come a time when these players would get frustrated at sitting on the bench and tensions would run high in the club, causing rows and shattering the feel good factor..maybe its now or maybe i'm thinking too much!!

Anyway on to Sunday! People are on here saying we will get beat!!

Why should we get beat? I bet Raffa and the players are'nt thinking that!
I dont think we will,we should at least get a draw or maybe scrape a win...time will tell!

I just hope Raffa does'nt throw in Agger or Kromkamp as i feel this will be too big a game too soon!

I would start with Robbie,he's obviously dying to score and will work his socks off,i think he will play off Crouch well and he will definately bury more chances than Cisse and Moro put together!

I would start with this

                            Reina

       Finnan      Hyypia    Carra      Riise

       Gerrard    Sissoko     Alonso   Kewell

                   Crouch
                           Fowler

Yes Crouch slightly behind Fowler to hold the ball up while our Robbie makes his runs!!

We need to be careful though of attacking to much as a unit and leaving the C/M players up the park to much or this is where we could loose the game with Makalele and Lampard given too much room to distribute the ball at ease this is where they start the break and are lethal!
Basically keep tight to them in C/M and i feel we can come away with at least a point or maybe even three!!

Bring the Bas.tards on i want revenge for that 4-1 defeat!!

for this game i think rafa will go with a 4-3-3/4-5-1 system. if we stick with 4-4-2 we'll get well and truly outnumbered in the middle of the park.

                                     reina

      finnan         carragher         hyypia           riise

                 sissoko       hamann      alonso

        gerrard                                            kewell

                                  crouch

Chelsea are in a bad run of form?

Look at our last 4 results to theirs people!

1-1. Fowler for us.

I wouldn't start Luis Garcia in this game...

            Crouch    Fowler
Kewell    Alonso    Sissoko    Gerrard
Riise      Hyypia   Carragher   Finnan
                  Reina

Wheres Militiarusher to give us one of his 5 teams?

Chelsea are the meanest defense in the Premiership, we only managed one against Birningham, so I can't see us scoring against Chelsea.

Put the crack pipe down will you.

Chelsea, goals conceded - 13 in 24 games
Liverpool, goals conceded- 13 in 22 games

So how do they have the ''meanest'' defence in the Premiership?

"we only managed one against Birningham, so I can't see us scoring against Chelsea."

And your point is? They only managed to score one goal against Aston Villa, where as we scored 2 goals against Villa and conceded none. They managed one goal against Wigan, we managed 3.

The comparison is b#llocks.

Chelsea are on a bad run of form ...well by their standards anyway!!

When they need a result, nine times out of ten they get it.
