No Gonzalez until next season, so we really need to sort someone else out for the right-side.  Who's most likely at this stage?

Gerrard is effective on the right.  By the way is Gonzalez a LWM or RWM?

True, Gerrard is effective on the right.  We've got no cover there though and I think he'd be more effective behind the strikers as an attacking CM.  I'm getting very twitchy now!

Gonazales is LM (and can play as a 2nd striker).

Parry dismisses move for Fowler Jan 26 2006

By David Prentice, Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL have dismissed radio reports this morning claiming that Robbie Fowler is returning to Anfield on-loan.

Chief executive Rick Parry said today: "There has been no dialogue whatsoever between Manchester City and ourselves.

"The story is not true."

Liverpool's goal-shy performance at Old Trafford last Sunday has increased speculation that the Reds would benefit from the presence of a poacher like Fowler in their squad, despite the fact he left the club five years ago

------------

That put's that one to bed then. Could have been a fairytale return (but would have more probably turned out to be a nightmare)  :)

Dawson - I agree. Xabi looks a very happy camper at fortress Anfield and I cannot see him move to Real Madrid at any stage in the near future. There is always the "will he move back home" feeling when you hear this but not with Xabi. He is settled and knows he is part of something big at Anfield!!

It was probably so other clubs wouldn't scupper the deal.

He didn't lie we were not negotiating for fowler to come on loan ,we were negotiating for him to come on a free.So you weren't lied to.Parry is a very good at the finer points of politics i.e telling half truths.
