With the aweome return of Fowler to LFC, in Ciggy's massive thread, it has left me wondering if that is indeed a massive snub to Owen (no return for him), and if it is signalling the exit of Cisse (probably to Lyon or Marseille).

At the moment the media is in a frenzy, and activity at Anfield this month leaves me thinking of more surprises. It does look likely that Victor will come, and the future is bright and rosy for the red half of Liverpool.

But, what do you lot think of my hypothesis??

Well it was a tentative explanation for an observation so it is nideed a hypothesis. And i would have to agree. Except it is not a snub for Owen. We just would not pay the money that was being asked. It does also look maybe that Cisse will leave but now we have 4 strikers, and thats what we should be having.

so in retrospect i disagree with your hypothesis sorry

i think that cisse will will be gone before the start of next season but i hope that pongollie gets a look in becuase i think that he is a making considerable improvement and looks like a decent player who is starting to take shape

Maybe Stu is a mole, out to sabotage the anonimity of forum members!

On the subject of Owen and Cisse though. I'm sure Cisses mind will be fairly made up now, he is never going to compete with Fowler on so many levels. Ability, Fan Adoration, Manager preference, etc. People argue he needs games but at how much expense to Liverpool considering his performances of late?

I don't think Owen was a snub, the fact of the matter was if Newcastle hadn't of doubled his valuation he'd of been playing for Liverpool this season. As much as I like Michael Owen he wasn't worth 17m. I can't seeing it being the end of any chance of him playing at Anfield again. If Cisse leaves in the summer that leaves us with Crouch,Morientes, Fowler, Sinama-Pongolle - considering Fowler is 30 and has injury potential (not ignoring his ability and talent though), I reckon there is still room for Owen.

Why extend the Liverpool reunion to Owen?

Well blow me, some young whipper-snapper has managed to start an 'Owen' thread in relation to LFC signing Robbie Fowler. After the fowler hatrick against the brummies on wednesday I wonder if there is a " did Owen watch the match?" thread, or if we were to unvail new imagery of a proposed new stadium perhaps we could have a "what does Owen think of the decor?" thread.
