Same here St Michael. The interest of Milan on Rijkaard is more than a rumour. The doubt is wether Barsa will be able to retain him.

the thing with rijkaard is he was desperately close to getting sacked about two years ago. the signing of ronaldihno (from under the noses of manure :D ) practically saved his job at the time.

the thing is, milan are having a shocking season and ancelotti looks like he's inevitably getting the boot at the end of the season. with rijkaard's history of playing for milan he seems the natural successor. should barca win the CL this season i think he'll definitely be off as he'll have won everything possible with them.

Well, another name in the Liverpool - Real Sociedad relationship

Toshack ---------> San Sebastian
Aldo ------------> San Sebastian
Westerveld -------> San Sebastian
Gonzalez ---------> San Sebastian on loan
Alonso-----------> Liverpool
Prieto ----------> Liverpool ( ??? ) so is said here, and the fact that Liverpool preffered RS rather than Espanyol might have something to do with it.

not surprised sabre. two great cities! congrats on the 1000th btw. i enjoy reading your opinions.

as for gonzalez ok, it MIGHT be better in the long run for both our situations but youve got to take your hat off to the work/pensions dept....then jump up and down on it and then, eat the damn thing!

what an absolute soft p.ussy footed shower of bottlers  :angry:
if the likes of chelsea/arsenal or man u came cap in hand i bet they wouldnt have got f.ucked about half as much.

From my view, you're totally right. The criteria is at the least erratic, as with it, an average player of the 66th of squad of the world can play in england, and perhaps  the unique excellent player of the 74th wouldn't

Not to mention I don't think Chile is the 74th, I'd pick 30 of the ones they have on front of them any day of the week for an easy match... Chile has never been easy to beat. ???

So you're right.

I'm not too disappointed to be honest - now he has the rest of the season to get fit. It would've taken him a while to force his way into first team reckoning here anyhow, and I think next season we'll see a player that's ready for the challenge as opposed to putting pressure on a lad that is short of fitness, games, confidence and - crucially - experience. It would've been a huge ask for a lad in his situation to come in under the glare of all the fans here, and expect him to impress us immediately when he's been injured and in limbo for so long.

So yeah - bad work on the part of the DoE, but I genuinely don't believe this is a bad outcome. We'll get a bit of money coming our way from the loan deal, and we'll hopefully get a fit and firing player coming our way in the summer.

Van Basten in my opinion should replace Ancelotti. I can't see Riijakard leaving Barcelona at the moment, he doesn't have any reason to leave. Van Basten on the other hand, would be more ideal for Milan as he isn't managing a club at the moment.

Yes he has, IMHO and rumour has it that he'll probably do so. Imagine Aldo was a super sucessful coach in Real Madrid, but suddenly, Liverpool summons him to be the coach, would he say no?  at the least, he'd be tempted, specially if Liverpool had a competitive team.

Milan AC is very important for Rijkaard, he owes the main part of his career to Milan AC, and fortunately this feeling issues still count in football. Besides that, Milan is a great team, AND rumour has it that Rijkaard's relationship with the Barsa board, was not that smooth, specially in the beginning.

Has anyone got a machine gun I can borrow?

My plan, you see, is to go to the DEP, and shoot some f*cking ignorant a*s.

Just enough for them to see that giving Gonzalez a work permit is, infact, a marvellous idea. One they can't believe they didn't think of themselves.

A Machette will do.

It's a silly decision to deny the lad a work permit, but little can be done about it until the summer.  I believe that Benitez initially went after Gonzalez when it was looking like Kewell was finished at Liverpool.  Now that Harry is fit and getting some form back, the urgency for Gonzalez to join up isn't that great.

Gonzalez has had a really bad injury, it will probably be next season before he is completely rehabilitated anyway, so I'm happy enough he's getting loaned out.  He can come back fitter next year and will give Kewell good competition for Left midfield hopefully.  At least we know we're getting him eventually, which is the main thing.

I have to say though, that I hope all the hype surrounding the lad doesn't give people unrealistic expectations for what he can do for us straight away.  He's still relatively unproven at the highest level.

I see he's gone on loan to Sociedad. Excellent, as Sabre can keep a close eye on him!

Too late. He's already a Liverpool player! He'll go (almost certainly) on loan to Real Sociedad.

BTW, I've visited  some Albacete forums and they were not too happy with him. He liked to go out at the night, and they accussed him of not working hard. But some say it's because he wanted to leave Albacete the sooner rather than the later.

I'm eager to watch him! If he's not good enough for RS, he won't be for Liverpool, me thinks.
