Crouch and Morientes wont scare anyone sorry.
Both are slow, Nando has more tactical knowledge of the game than Crouch.
But we will NOT be tearing teams apart with 2 target men upfront, its one or the other.
Morientes and Pongolle, or Crouch and Cisse, or Cisse and Pongolle.
Our goal difference should be 100 by now the amount of crosses coming into that box, its just we have got a proper fox in the box thats letting us down.

Lyndsey ya talkin rubbish. Baros has pace, look at the difference in the side having Crouch instead of Baros.

Pace is great, but being a footballer is more important. Robbie Fowler never had an ounce of pace yet played upfront on his own after Rush left and scored 35 goals in a season. Are you saying he didn't scare anyone?

Pace is a great asset but its not the be all and end all. Zidane... One of the best players of all time wasn't lightening quick. Alright he wasn't a slouch but genuine "pace" wasn't a strength.

Shearer just scored 200 goals, he's never had pace. Got to agree with Stu, unfourtanetly.

What I believe CIGGY is trying to say, is that you cannot have two target men playing at the same time and expect them to score as many goals as an out-and-out finisher and a target man.

I've never thought Cisse had any class in his finishing, gerrard finishes better than any of our strikers also.

I dont personally give a monkeys how well crouch played on the ball, his job is to hit the net.

Id offload Cisse at the end of the season, say for 8m (if we can even get that. Michael owen is unlikely to stay at geordie land for long, esp after souness gets the boot. we need him back in the summer simple as.

Id even have a fit Robbie fowler back. (yes i said fit)
I even rate mellor over Cisse or Moro.

And why did we sell Baros? When a lot of our fans were having a dig at Milan, But the strikers we have left can't hit the titanic with a footy.

we need someone in the calibre or Henry, Owen, Schevchenko, etc etc it's so obvious to see.

Cisse , i think, is definately gone at the end of the season. and he can take his banana boots with him.

I think if little Luis was fit today Cisse would not be on the pitch, and Luis would probably have scored a few.

I said at half-time that Cisse should be taken off and he did nothing to prove me wrong.

I said that bringing on Kromkamp (because he's not yet up to the physical nature of the game) was a mistake and he was supposed to be marking Ferdinand from the free kick...

I'm not saying that I'm right and Rafa is wrong, because he's forgotten more about football than I'll ever know, but sometimes I think great managers can make silly mistakes.  I do believe that is what cost us today, that, and the fact that ManUre showed more desire than we did.

shearer was very quick until his knee injuries, i remember one goal for blackburn against united where he outpaced the united back four with the ball from near the half way line.

If Garcia were fit today, Cisse would still be in the line up.

Perhaps people here fail to see the point, but Rafa made a good decision when he started Cisse. Because Cisse' reputation as a speed devil actually pinned back the united backline. For almost the entire match they dare not push too high up because of the constant fear that Cisse would exploit any counter attack opportunities with his speed. That,  in my opinion, was a good move by Rafa.

Yet, that said, Rafa undid all his own good work when he brought on Kromkamp. I don't understand the decision at all. When unsettle the backline when we were still pushing forward? And taking off Sissoko proved to be the decisive factor when Ferdinand managed to tower over the rest to head in the goal. Sissoko would probably be assigned to mark players coming in for the corner. And Kromkamp nearby Ferdidnand yet chose to mark someone whom is already marked.

I still would give Cisse only a rating of 5 (2 if not for the aforementioned effect he has on the game). His miss was terrible and almost all our attacks stop once the ball is played to him. He can't pass, can't link up and can't get into useful positions.

I have never rated him as a player, as someone just mentioned, he is indeed, just a waste of time.
