Anelka is a first class striker no doubts, but with it comes his awful and un-predictable attitude. I dont think RB would touch him because of this, be interesting to see which new striker we do bring in though!

Yes. He is a good player with a huge potential. His young wild days are over and he has still a lot to offer.

I'd have him back. He was simply a class act.

Nearly every game he played he oozed class. His passing, awarness pace and skill where a joy to watch. He also made other players around him play.

Yes he had his faults, but who doesn't?

Absoloute class act, anyone who thinks differently simply doesn't know football. :)

I'd have him back.  He is keen to get back into the France squad which seems like a change in attitude for the better...probabaly realises his career is pushing on and needs to start achieving.

During 2001 / 2002 Houllier played Heskey, Owen and Anelka up front against Newcastle and it was devastating to watch.  Pity Houllier wasn't brave enough more often.

Dont think I would have him back ,he is a great player but I think he is too simular to what we have got at the moment,we need someone who gives us something different so we can adapt to different tactics better

He is good, no doubt. Just look at his goal scoring exploits at a very poor Man City. he did well in his first season at Real Madrid and scored a goal each, if I am not mistaken, in their CL game against Bayern Munich.

The only thing is that he does not seem to be able to stay happy or content at a club for more than 2 seasons. If we do buy him, what assuarances do we have that he will stay happy for more than 2 seasons? Also, a bit too moody which seem to affect his games - worth the risk?

Anelka was a great player but id never consider him to be a world class one. He seemed to have no awareness of being able to time any runs properly (god knows how many times he was offside for Liverpool?) His pace always unsettled defences but he was never a deadly finisher. Maybe GH should have given him a chance then but he didnt so its history now.

MadRed has a point, and I would have to agree with him, however we do need a fourth striker.

why would we want him -- oh yes he's a wonderful player but really-- psycho strikers are a dime a dozen -- could have had kluivert- not-- just wait one day this prima donna will go nutty and he could be had for a song but sooorrry rafa will have gotten a real striker who doesn't need prozac and doesn't have crazy family members as agents

ps: players who leave are like ex-wives  you NEVER take them back unless they're real hot and/or have talents(and with money too --forgot)

Pongolle needs maturation before fielding on a more regular basis, therefore we need one more experienced and class striker. You can not depend only on Cisse and Baros since the long way to go ahead makes it very possible for one (or even both) of them to get injured during the competition. Anelka is no doubt a quality, but perhaps his attitude wouldn't fit in Rafa's managing character.

I have Anelka back anytime. A class striker. Deadly and skillful.

Rafa can tame this animal. No problem.

So i think u should think a bit more fella b4 u rite junk like youre last post
Chopper:Look, you're not still angry at me about the leg, are you?
Neville Bartos : Nah, forget about it.
Chopper : Because I don't know if you remember, Neville, but I had that bloody shotgun pointed at your head. I reconsidered and dropped it down to your kneecap. Remember?
