Nicolas anelka - Would you take him back?

The Premiership - General Discussion

the guy wants out of man city and monaco are reportedly interested in signing him. i for one, was disappointed when houllier decided not to buy him and opted for diouf instead (look how that turned out). the guy may have a reputation for being a sulker but nobody can question his ability. he scored 20 goals in a bottom 5 team last season. at arsenal he was devastating and turned from a £500,000 player to £22m player.

would you take him back now as we need another striker? at least we have a manager now who would take no sh#t and kick his butt if he started sulking or moaning.

No. Too much trouble. We do not want a harmonious ship de-stabalised.

Id love to have him back but hes got the wrong nationality now there will be no more french coming into this side think majority of the team is going to be spanish :p
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Has only had one good season (Arsenal 97/98) in his whole career although he had a fairly good one last year. Never really impressed at LFC, how many goals did he score? and I was happy GH didn't buy him.

Id defo have him back, Not signing Anelka was the pivotal turning point i thought for the downfall of Houllier, we had a Quality striker who didnt score to many at Anfield at the time but for anyone who watched him 4 the few months he was there will know he was pure class and brought a different quality to are team which ended up 2nd. But instead Houllier knocked him back, signed Diouf and as they say....the rest is history, and when people say hes a problem, how many problems has he caused teams hes been at in the last couple of years.....not many, people just label him a trouble causer cos he left Arsenal in bad circumstances and im sure a manager ofs Rafas quality would be able to cope with Anelka
easily.

Oh and Big Niall, 20 goals for a side in relegation dog fight is a good season dont u think......
Chopper:Look, you're not still angry at me about the leg, are you?
Neville Bartos : Nah, forget about it.
Chopper : Because I don't know if you remember, Neville, but I had that bloody shotgun pointed at your head. I reconsidered and dropped it down to your kneecap. Remember?

Yeah i wasnt real happy when we got him on loan, just thought it was hype to cover Robbie getting ditched but i thought he did enough to warrant a contract. In hindsight with what we got instead it did prove fateful for GH.
As for getting him again, it will really depend on the price tag

No, I would'nt want him. I dont think Benitez would either, he strikes me as a manager who likes players who don't stray out of line.

I love players that are consistent, that are willing to put 100% in every match because they love the club and they love to win. I can't stand it when players throw a tantrum when they don't get their own way or who think they're  bigger than the team.

Anelka is unstable and a complete risk. Not for me.

I wouldn't take him back to Anfield, but he is very good player. I prefer Cisse than Anelka and we do need another striker like Mista of Valencia.

Class is class and goals are goals, and at the end of the day Anelka provides both, if a manager cant handle a bit of arrogance and attitude then whats he doin managein a football club in the 1st place when there is more players like this than ever b4......And i reckon Anelka would love to be back at LFC and id welcome him back any day.

I know i am goin on a bit in this thread, but since isaw Anelka in a Reds shirt ive been a massive fan of his and was gutted when houllier didnt go through with it, but the thought of Anelka replacin owen and playin upfront with Cisse or Baros would b awesome
