I can't think of many left backs than Ashley Cole.

Don't say Roberto Carlos, although he still has great attacking ability his defensive qualities are suspect.

Gabrielle heinz, Paulo Maldini, Zambrotta and Roberto Carlos is better !

Ashley Cole is a quality player but is not better than any off these players imo.

agree with Maldini and Zambrotta, although I would take Ashley Cole over Maldini based on age.

Heinze isn't quite as good as Cole in an attacking sense, but probably better defensively, one of the buys of the season.
