Then i'd say keep him til we do!  As i've always said, we don't need to sell the guy and unless we get an off that allows us to recoup our money, keep him.  Despite his critics, he does get goals and does change matches.  So, unless they offer King AND money, i'd tell them to stick their 8 million.

From SSN.

Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Villarreal regarding a swap deal involving Josemi and Jan Kromkamp.

Spanish full back Josemi appears unsettled at Anfield and has been linked with a return home during the January transfer window.

He is believed to be keen to join Sevilla, but Liverpool are reluctant to offload the right back :censored:il they have a replacement lined up.

The European champions could now kill two birds with one stone, after reports in Spain claimed they are discussing a swap deal with Villarreal.

Dutch international Kromkamp, who only signed for Villarreal from AZ Alkmaar at the start of the season, is unhappy at El Madrigal.

Kromkamp has been asked to be allowed to leave the club on loan in the New Year to boost his prospects of being in Holland's World Cup squad.

Villarreal were initially lukewarm to the idea of losing Kromkamp, but the possibility of landing Josemi could prompt a rethink.

The reports suggest a deal could be agreed which would see Kromkamp provide Liverpool with the necessary competition for Steve Finnan, and also allow Josemi to head back to Spain.

Josemi hasb't really settled into our team and, it has been reported, that his family arn't happy in England either.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave in the new year.

From soccernet.com

MADRID, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Villarreal and Liverpool have agreed a deal to take the Spanish club's Dutch defender Jan Kromkamp to the European champions, Villarreal said on their website on Thursday.

Liverpool's Spanish defender Josemi is set to join Villarreal as part of the deal, although the players have not yet discussed personal terms.

Josemi, whose full name is Jose Miguel Gonzalez, was the first of several signings made by Spaniard Rafael Benitez shortly after he took over as Liverpool coach in 2004.

Dutch international Kromkamp joined Villarreal, fourth in the Primera Liga, in August on a five-year contract from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.

Both Liverpool and Villarreal have reached the last 16 of the Champions League.

Hmm, from here, it looks like its already done and dusted but it remains to be seen whether hes acutally a right back or a center back.

From SSN
Liverpool and Villarreal have agreed a deal that will see Jan Kromkamp join The Reds in exchange for out-of-favour defender Josemi.

However, personal terms between the two players and clubs have yet to be finalised.

Liverpool were unwilling to let Josemi go :censored:il a replacement could be found, and so an exchange with the Spanish side looks the perfect outcome.

Kromkamp was believed to be unhappy at El Madrigal and a move to Anfield will enable him to push for a place in the Dutch World Cup squad.

"Villarreal have a reached an agreement with Liverpool for the transfer of Dutch defender Jan Kromkamp to the English team and the arrival of Josemi," said a statement on Villarreal's official website.

"The agreement is between the clubs and lacks only the agreement of both players."

Seen him play in CL and get can say that he is quite good.

He often throws his shirt into the crowd.. I think usually after he has scored..
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

.tv has got a piece on this Kromkamp coming as a swap for Josemi, so it looks pretty definite. Anyone got any idea how good he is? Apparently he played against Everton for Villareal, but I can't say I noticed him. Can't be any worse than Josemi can he....................................

From http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N150986051230-1134.htm

Rafael Benitez has quashed the latest press speculation linking Djibril Cisse with a January move away from Anfield by insisting the French striker is very much part of his plans.
Benitez laughed off morning reports that Cisse is on his way to Marseille and went on to explain that he's very happy with the form of the striker who netted Liverpool's final goal in the derby win over Everton on Wednesday.

"They (Marseille) are always talking but they don't talk with us," said the Reds boss. "There is no news and we don't want to sell Djib.

"He is a very important player for us who has shown the kind of attitude I like in players. He's a good finisher and against Everton I knew his pace would give us options."

Benitez then refused to be drawn on further rumours about incoming transfers but on the subject of signing a new centre-back he added: "We have four or five options with regard to bringing a new centre back in. Signing players in the January transfer window is more difficult than the one in August but we are trying our hardest."

I think that ends the speculation, whenever we sold a player Benitez never came out and publically said he was staying, he gave very vague answers. Personally i want Cisse to stay as i think he is starting to settle and come good  :)
