Serbian international favours Manchester United move
Spartak Moscow defender Nemanja Vidic has revealed that a move to Manchester United is his 'first choice'.
Vidic said: "That [Manchester United] is my first choice. My second is Fiorentina. There is also a third option but I won't name that club."
He added: "Spartak is a great club but I want to play in a bigger and better league."
Spartak chief executive Sergei Shavlo told Sport-Express: "We were trying to retain Vidic in the squad but he has told me straight that he will leave Spartak. The only question is to which club will he move?
"Initially he was going to join Fiorentina but now he is inclined to accept the Manchester United offer.
"We continue to have talks concerning the transfer fee."

Do Vidic worth that price? I'd heard that his price at around 11m and his first choice for scums will just raise his price on. For me, ledley king will be a ideal partner with carra.

I read in one news report that the price was agreed at 8m . Was talking to my older brother about him (a life long Manc supporter !! guess we all have a family member we dont like to talk about ) , reckoned they wouldnt spend more than 4.5m at most , guess it just goes to show how desperate Rudolf is to stem the tide of the Red Sea overtaking him ............ Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is on the brink of bolstering his defence after agreeing a fee with Spartak Moscow for Nemanja Vidic.
Vidic, the 24-year-old Serbia & Montenegro international, had been linked with Liverpool and Fiorentina but previously indicated a preference to join the Old Trafford outfit.
Although personal terms have yet to be agreed and a medical to be passed, the deal is expected to be completed once the transfer window opens on January 1.

Former Reds striker Owen comes up against his old club on Boxing Day when his new side Newcastle travel to Anfield, live on PremPlus.
His return to Merseyside comes against a backdrop of comments from Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez that he tried to re-sign Owen.
The England international left Real Madrid in the summer and opted to join Newcastle, with Liverpool failing to match The Magpies' bid.
Benitez insists the European champions did all they could to try to bring Owen back to the club and refused to rule out a bid for the hit-man in the future.
But Magpies chairman Shepherd has cast doubt on Benitez's claims and feels Liverpool did not make a concerted effort to land Owen.
"Does Rafa Benitez really think that the British public do not know the facts and are stupid?" Shepherd told the Daily Mirror.
"We have a club that had just won the Champions League and was looking round Europe for a top striker.
"Now they want us to believe that they tried their best for Michael.
"It was Newcastle United who did everything they could to sign Michael Owen.
"We are happy with what we have bought and Michael is more than happy to be here.
"I do not understand the motives of putting out this story before the two teams meet."
