THE NEW LFC TRANSFER RUMOUR THREAD - Yes it's silly season time again folks

Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

I think Pennant would be a great buy, I was hoping Liverpool went for him in the time he was being sold to Birmingham.

There's no doubt about his ability and skill on the pitch, it's his drinking that would be the problem - apparently he turned up to a training session drunk a month or so back and he was sent home. I'm still wondering if it's true, and if it is, how'd he get to the traning ground without breaking the law?

Maybe a more Professional squad like our's could settle him down though, and I believe we could - we have a lot of influential player's on and off the field that could keep him on the straight. I think he'd improve immensly as a player under our roof with better training and quality player's who will rub off on him. Just think of the service Crouch, Morientes, Cisse and co. would get from his superb deliveries. Mouth watering.

I also must say I'm not too keen on Simao coming to us, I've seen him play a few time's and he is good, but I don't think he'd improve our team too much, just a tad. I also think he's injured at the moment, hopefully he's still injured come the next transfer window! Finger's crossed Rafa makes a move for Pennant in January instead of Simao.

4 mil for pennant would be a great deal, can't see Birmingham selling him though.

They'll sell him if they have to, because they're been :censored: poor so far and could be down in the Coca Cola league next season.

According to SkySports the Spartack Chairman saysVidic is now worth £10M!
Reports were quoting 4.5M a few weeks ago.

Rafa doesn't like paying top whack but we cant afford not to get a CB this time

Sorry but 4 million of him is about 3.9 million too much and he would not make the grade at lfc as young townley is better than Pennant.

if we are going to go out and spend on a winger get a proper one and one that we will see for several years not a could have been kid like pennant.

Schweinsteiger of Bayern Munchen is one guy that we will see alot of in the World cup and i think it would be better to by now than later when his price will be tripple.

the only problem is trying to prise him from Bayern

Excuse my ignorance but who is Townley ?

And why would Bayern sell there top young player to a rival for the champions league ?

Yes similarly I'd quite like us to sign Ronaldhino and the only problem is trying to prise him away from Barcelona.  :eyebrow

alright garymac   at the start of the season benfica said if they got through to the last 16 of the champions league simao sabrosa would not be for sale in january  but after a meeting between simao and benfica he will be allowed to join liverpool in january if a deal can be agreed  the bottom line is liverpool dont want to spend over 10 million, they may want as much as 13 million for him, i believe he will be a liverpool player in january... :;):

Surprised we haven't been linked with Rufete, given he appears out of favour at Valencia.

According to teletext's Liverpool page (p.511), we have already bidded £4.5m for Vidic.
It's not on Lfc.tv, though, so can I assume it's b*llocks?
BTW - whats he like, this Vidic lad?

Probably nothing but I heard a rumour the Raffa was very impressed with young Ittihad defender Al Montashari. The Saudi was recently voted Asian player of the year. Al Montashari scored Ittihad's second against the Brazilians.
