Bobby Convey, eh? Watched him in the MLS...quality player. Feels a bit young at times but gives it about 200%. Quick as hell and never afraid of getting stuck in. Don't have a clue what he's doing for Reading right now, but he's the kind of guy who would consistently perform beyond to his ability and beyond just to keep wearing the Red shirt.

LFC will be active in the January 2006 transfer window. Benitez has already agreed deals with his primary targets. Joaquin will commit to join Liverpool after the Champions League tie at Anfield. Woodgate will join on loan with a view to a permanent deal. Simao is agitating for a move away from Benfica, this will be concluded for £6m + Dudek. Ibanez has verbally assured Benitez he will leave Atletico only for Anfield.

and ............. Liverpool to sign Gallas in Jan for 8m and Joaquin for £12m + Josemi.

I really hope we can make some nice moves in January.  Cup-tied players won't help us in the CL but will in the league and for the future.

Reds going after Toon starlet
21 November 2005

It is rumoured that Liverpool are going after the coveted Newcastle starlet Santiago Munez. Just brought from Mexico by Newcastle scouts in June 2004 as a 16-year-old, he has played a couple of reserve games since then. He is a very versatile player and can play as a striker, an attacking midfielder, as well as a right-sided midfielder.

Munez caught the eye of Liverpool head scout Ron Yeats while recently playing for Newcastle in a reserve game against Queens Park Rangers, in which he scored a 35 yard cracker. In 6 reserve appearances, he has already scored 7 goals, while figures suggest that he has also contributed numourous assists. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham scouts were also rumoured to be situated amongst the stands that day.

It is however difficult for him to force himself into the first team picture with experienced strikers Michael Owen, veteran Alan Shearer, Albert Luque, Shola Amoebi, and Michael Chopra, all in contention. Munez has helped himself with yet another first class performance for the reserve team and could very well make the bench against Everton come Sunday if manager Graeme Souness chooses to reward the 16 year old youngster for his recent strong displays.

He could come for a fee as low as 1 million when the January transfer window opens. However, it is hard to believe that Newcastle would want to release their most sellable asset for such a cut price, regardless of the abundance of quality strikers at their service.

Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has reiterated the French side's desire to lure Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.

The 24-year-old's future at Anfield was in doubt during the summer and he also voiced concerns about not playing enough regular football.

But Cisse has been a more prominent figure for the Reds recently and has hit four goals in his last seven games.

"He (Cisse) would suit Marseille and Marseille would suit him," Diouf told French newspaper L'Equipe.

He added: "But he still plays and scores for Liverpool. However, until the winter break, things can change."

Cisse was signed for £14m by Liverpool in July 2004 from Auxerre.

despite the fact that i don't think the guy is good enough for what we require, this must not be allowed to happen. he's our top scorer ffs.

I reckon hes coming good now and will stay with the Reds. Especially with Gerrard happy to take the right wing.

Agreed,

Cisse is one of these players who you have to persevere him. His record in front of goal this season is good. His all-round performance is not always the best but who cares if he is scoring goals!!
