For those of you who don't know who he is, he won the World Cup with West Germany in 1990, and was 2nd in 1982 and 1986. Also, as the Australian members will know, he is coach of Sydney FC.

He came into where I work and I served him, askeing him how he was enjoying Sydney FC and talked to him about the Saprissa game in the World CLub Champiosnhip. He said he was disappointed they lost in a game he felt they played very well in.

Seemed like a pretty serious fella, but he was nice enough to have a chat with me and he seemed like a nice enough chap.

Would have loved too Judge but work was busy and didn't get the chance, should have nicked the signature sheet out of the cash register he signed for using his credit card.  :(

He was a great player.

Bizarre, because I was thinking about writing about Littbarski last night in the Fast Wingers thread.

In this months FourFourTwo, I think Terry Butcher's got him in his All Time XI.

He appears to have a mullet in the magazine.

he was from that era when you knew the germans where going to either win the world cup or at the very least get to the semi`s. they were like a machine.
he was a superb player and a star of the world game in those days.
i have this mental image of watching t.v on a really hot summers night like the ones we seemed to get years ago and the dark haired swarthy littbarski would have his socks rolled down going past some french or spanish fullback.
the numbers always looked cool on their shirts an all.
i used to love the world cups.

That basstard! I bought his Libarski football boots but never became the world class footballer the salesman told me I would.

Why can't you play with your shirt out and socks down anymore? I used to love playing like that. :veryangry

THanks for the story LFC1!!!!!!!

Litbarrski was a player of when Germany still was Germany (not a cack team like now). I did see many games of him, but as the time passes this memories begin to fade... I'll watch a couple of Germany games to remember him.
