Players attitudes or managers motivational skills - Whos to blame?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Who's to blame for the state of our football club? Surely a proffessional footballer playing for our club doesnt have the right to not put everything he has into representing LFC even if, as it seems, the manager has lost his ability to motivate since his operation. It makes me sick to watch these players milling around, playing half hearted s##t football. Insulting each and every person who has ever supported Liverpool. Why are the board so blind to the fact Houllier has lost the dressing room. Talk of winning the title next year after this seasons "ambition" of 4th place is ridiculous but its not just the managers fault. The players should play for anyone as a matter of respect for the fans. The fact is we have the players to win the title already there just too busy getting an easy ride from Le Boss. Play s##t and I'll defend you instead of telling it like it is. It not going to get us anywhere fast. Houliers comments before the Arsenal game summed up the man to me. Correct, Arsenal were a wounded animal. So finish them off, kick them while there down, NO. Not Houllier, that would be too mean. Tell everyone were going to get beat, including the players. That will get them going. 4-2 wasnt it?

lots of sense there, not sure we quite have squad to win title if we start Biscan (sure Henchoz is there but we need another centre half), We need another striker (Cisse is coming, so that probelm is almost solved) and another Mid or two ( Right wing nad perhaps a centre mid to work well with Stevie G). Motivation is key however and Houllier canot do this effectivley enough, need a manager who won't put up with mediocre performances, Would managers of days gone by like Shanks and Paisley put up with this I think not!

houllier definitely has an inability to motivate the players when things have been going badly this season. players such as biscan, diouf, cheyrou need a kick up the a#se and be told exactly who they are playing for. when you are winning and playing well yo don't need motivating, you motivate yourself. i think that was the case during the treble season. we had massive games every week. now, when things are going badly, is the time that houllier should be rallying the troops and getting them to play for him. i just don't see him doing that unfortunately. :(

yeah ok, fair enough we dont quite have the squad for the title yet but most of it is in place. Questions have to asked in regards to the scouting system or personnel aswell. Ever since Souness we've bought badly. Scouting eastern europe and scandinavia for yet to be discovered talent. Dont really see the point when we are still paying way over the odds for these players and they are still generally sh##e. Its been happening for years. From Kozma to Biscan nothing has changed. Even when we do buy players of undoubted ability we still manage to drain them of any confidence and turn them into sh##e too. No one doubted the talent of players such as Clough, Barmby, Heskey, Kewell and even Paul Stewarts signature was a much sought after one at the time. I dont know, maybe its us or ghosts of the past that put too much pressure on todays Liverpool players but not since the days of Collymore, Ruddock, Fowler and co can I remember seeing Liverpool play football with a smile on ther face!

I think the players need a new guideline on what they r supposed out on the field. What we see right now is a messy game plan with no proper commitment plus not to mention a mumbling managers who prefers to speak to himself like a mad man! We have a good team and we all know they can play like MU or Arsenal if they were taught to do so!! We need an agressive Manager not a patient teacher. Its not good for the game.

O'Niel is a good candidate but looks like he's not moving from Celtic. But someone else like him will do the trick. Sorry to say that not many R available. Claudio Ranieri could fit in but we need someone like Wenger or Fabio Cappelo!! ???

What we need is Martin O'Neill.

Ranieri is greatly helped by abramovich ,money and should be judged on his record before abramovich.

O'Neill has been a success at every club he has been at with little money but with great achievement.

Why would Capello leave Roma ?

I'd prefer to see ONeill as manager more than anybody else.
